[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

You need to communicate the reason for removing the message boards. You will always have a few jerks that are abusive but 99% of the communication is friendly and useful and frankly necessary.

We constantly have messages posted daily with trade communication and other information. We have many members that rely on this form of communication. Why are you screwing with this?
-
Paynter Graham commented
This is critical for the operation of our leagues as we rely on the message board to keep in contact with other league members.
Why are you messing with success?
Everyone has loved your leagues - up to now!

How do we find chat?
Message boads play a vital role in discussion, league announcements, in a contract league we announce IL decisions, etc.

C'mon Yahoo! get your **** together. Message boards are a necessity

How do we access chat through a browser on a computer? Two of our league participants are parents of myself and another individual who started this league a long long time ago. They do not have or use smart phones and I can't find how the chat can be accessed through the browser.
Did you really think this through or is some moron making decisions that are going to drive people away from Yahoo?

Message Boards are CRITICAL Using Chat is AWFUL and it doesn't put things under one subject. It has already caused a lot of confusion with our league which we've had for a long time. If you can make a chat with SUBJECTS and everyone can respond to ONE. But this way it's all chat posts and no way to decipher or separate conversations!!!!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. What were you thinking making this change.

The transition is being handled clumsily at best. Where is the "chat icon" on the standard Yahoo Baseball League overview homepage? It's on the iphone, its on the ipad...but not on the typical; desktop site? Not cool.
Also, a video tutorial would be most helpful, or at least some user 1-page user guide with screenshots, that make the distinction between direct 1-on-1 chat and open discussions under the "league" tab of chat.
Heavy-handed is the bst way to describe the transition...Yahoo can do better! -

A note to those who are wondering why this topic is currently ranked only #9. I believe that posting a comment is not enough to raise the ranking. I believe one also must reply to the question "How important is this to you?". I would suggest voting "Critical".

We are a keeper league that has been using Yahoo! since at least 2005. As we are spread across the country we always drafted offline and we used the message board the place to do so. It was critical that people got the email alert when someone posted a new message so that they could log the draft pick/know when it was their turn to draft. Removing the message board feature makes running our offline draft more difficult, and there's just no way a **** chat feature will be as useful as the message board feature already was.

This is the most asinine thing Yablew has done !! We all depend on message boards!!!!!! I've had my yablew profiles filles up every year for at least a decade. You do realize you're gonna lose numerous leagues. It's not too late to change is it????? Whoever came up with this is a ******* idiot!!!!!

My fantasy baseball league is admittedly not that active on the message boards. They are used, but not all that active. However, I hope this change is not going to apply to fantasy football in the Fall as those are super active. We do weekly recaps, use them for trading and general communication. We also have a running text thread, so I highly doubt any chat app would replace that.

My league is comprised mainly of older guys who don't have the mobile app or have any interest in figuring out how to use the app. We communicate on the league message boards for anything from setting the draft date, time and location to negotiating league rules changes and trades. This is not a good move, and we'll probably take our league elsewhere unless it's turned back on.
Why even turn it off? Like, what the **** guys?

How can you run a fantasy league without utilizing the message board? My league uses the message board for posting everything, rules, keeper status, trades, waiver pickups and so many more. If we start this season without a message board, we will leave and join another fantasy league venue. This is the most ridiculous decision Yahoo has ever made.

Today one of my commissioners decided to create a temporal side league on ESPN to use their Message Board, just to do our offline drafts. What an absurd situation. Thanks Yahoo!

you might consider moving chat to a more prominent spot on each team's home page...it is a useful and fun tool for league communications but can be lost at the very bottom of home page...small box to the side? like during live drafts?
