[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Why fix something that wasn't broken. Probably will have move to another site. If yahoo wants to get rid of free Yahoo games, just tell us Very bad move and still waiting for an explanation. This was handled in a very disrespectful and immature way.

Bring back the message boards! Our league has been with Yahoo for nearly twenty years, but we will begin exploring alternatives (ESPN, CBS) if the message boards are not restored.

Another day, another 100 messages all saying the same thing. Most of these 630+ messages are from commishs so each message really represents 10-12 people. We are looking at over 6000 people bothered by this so far and the season is still over a month away. Its only going to grow. Message boards are essential. Where is the only official place to complain about this? On a MESSAGE BOARD. Common sense Yahoo.
For those of you looking for the chat when you are accessing by computer/desktop: On the bottom right of any league page there is a small white and blue chat bubble. Click on that. I had no idea where it was either. I had to ask on Twitter to get the answer:)

So obviously Yahoo doesn't care and has made the decision to go ahead with removing the message boards (all-time, Hall of Fame level, out-of-touch decision). Our league disapproves and is probably going to relocate to Fantrax. However, Yahoo says "Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more"...when? Our keeper deadline is fast approaching. The message boards are gone, but where are these additions to the chat? Half the league doesn't even know what or where the current chat is--they've never used it--so trying to discuss keepers and rule changes and other league settings is pointless in chat's current format. This is the most disorganized and poorly executed change you could probably do...it's almost like you don't care. And no, I'm not playing in your money leagues and DFS...we know that's what you want.

This is going to make it very difficult to conduct drafts in many leagues were we used the message board to communicate deadlines, keeper information, player/team rankings and drafts. This change SUCKS!

Seems there’s a lot here already, but my League will need to move on after 15 yrs as well. Message Boards was what allowed our League to be Dynasty League with off site Minors roster… ****, I love ur site so much more then the others I use 🤷♂️

Another change for the worse. Why tamper with things that have worked well for almost two decades? The chat and other communication options are not the same as a message board. This is just another step in the wrong direction and it's all about customizing the game for the younger generations who prefer frivolous banter in a chat box instead of exchanging meaningful information and stats on the message board. The worst part of it all? That I'm not even surprised Yahoo is doing this. You've ruined so many things that were absolutely great on your website, so this is just another piece in this mosaic of destruction. 'Well done'!

The silence is deafening, the message boards are an essential tool it must be restored. The lack of notice that the feature was disappearing is extremely disrespectful and is a poor reflection on Yahoo.

I am curious, how do we access the "yahoo fantasy chat" that you mentioned above since you have decided to remove the message board. I would prefer it to be returned as mentioned in the comments below by others.

message board is critical, especially in larger custom leagues. Especially the older generation of people don't use a lot of email and chat... and they dont want too. So much easier to have everything in one place. Removing the message board was a very poor decision. Plenty of other platforms to move too, and they all have message boards.

using the in game message boards helps you talk trash to your entire league. it is much less fun without it!! bring it back! brink it back! we want matchup chats. not private messages. they should be able to be viewed by entire league. and everyone can chime it. not having it takes away some of the fun. who ever took this option away most likely never won anything in fantasy or even participated.

Message boards allowed owners to confirm they understand the commissioner on a topic specific basis right under the thread and to ask questions. This doesn't exist anymore so it is much more difficult to know who in the league is on the same page. Anything you can do to restore this ability for commissioner's to vet the owners in their leagues, especially before the draft, it appreciated.

Yahoo, what did you do? Organized league message boards are a vital component in fantasy sports. How can you not know this? One scrolling thread on an already limited phone app cannot replace the open communication tools of an online chat board. I run 2 long standing leagues and I'm worried this is a sign of Yahoo bailing out of fantasy sports. We will have to move the leagues to another venue. Not something we are looking forward to doing.

Please bring back the message boards. They're vital for my fantasy leagues and other people's leagues.

Please bring the message boards back.

Sigh. Terrible. Just terrible. Like others have stated, message boards are critical to keeper and returning leagues. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Especially without a viable second option. Please reconsider this horrendously stupid decision and bring the message board back or you will continue to lose even more of your customer base.

The removal of the league message page makes no sense and takes away from the quality of the fantasy leagues. Why would Yahoo remove the chance for people to communicate in a manner that is easiest and makes the most sense? If there is some sort of message issue, why not give each commissioner the opportunity to decide whether or not to have a message board.
Is this more of Yahoo's censorship? They censor comments on many of their news articles.

I wish you could actually see what happens in many leagues. The message board is truly part of the experience. But even more importantly, important is the process. For example, the commissioner asks for advice on changes to the settings before the league starts and we can all read suggestions and respond. In elimination leagues, reminders and results are posted. Yes, some of that can be done in the commissioner notes, but we can't respond now to those remarks. If you want to get rid of something, getting rid of those (please don't do it) notes would be less impactful.
We can't even now hold a league discussion on how important the Message Board is. I am sure if we still had it, that would be a big issue to discuss.
If possible, bring it back now. If not now, the sooner the better.

Is the chat going to be available on desktop? If no then it’s unusable in my league. If so, will threading and pinning be available this season? Even if chat were available in its current form on desktop it would still be unusable bc we make league announcements that aren’t suited for chat (few are going to scroll up to read every message). If yahoo has deleted the messageboard without an adequate replacement that’s available on desktop then we’ll have to think about ESPN or fantrax…refuse to bother everyone over email with league announcements.
