[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

CBS has both message boards and chat. Not sure why Yahoo can't accommodate both, at least for a season. It is very difficult to follow along with votes, planning, etc in a chat unless it's like Slack+
Please keep the message board until the chat it perfected while people have a chance to use and learn the chat. -

All league communication is posted on the message board. With leagues 12 -14 people deep, no one wants a constant barrage of league texts. We all love doing fantasy sports, but we should not be texting each other for it all the time.
No message board really sucks.

This affects my league greatly. I run a keeper league and use the board for multiple applications of league play including just strait up smack talk. We need the board for communication. Will probably have to move to ESPN leagues. Very disappointing.

Please bring back the message boards, we need them to communicate. Easier than email.
Thank you

What are you thinking?? My league is actively looking for a new host -- one that features message boards!

this is very disappointing and really stupid. You are taking away one of the most fun parts of playing fantasy with your friends

Our league uses the message board to disseminate important league info, voting on league rules and changes, and for trash talk. Can’t find “fantasy chat” anywhere. We intend to use commish notes as our message board which is inconvenient and does not send notifications. Not a good decision to get rid of the message board imo.

This is a terrible idea. For my keeper leagues it is a lot easier to go through message board posts than having to keep my emails or searching the chat. What idiot thought this was a great idea? This is really going to make my job harder!

Terrible idea! Baseball is so long and the communication between players is what keeps the league going. The chatter is what keeps matchups interesting plus how do we discuss trades for to the league in whole?

What a stupid and terrible idea! Why did you have to mess with this????? One more reason to leave yahoo for good

chad m, you asked: "Luckily there are other options besides Yahoo. Anyone have any suggestions on better sites. I'm not running a 14 team fantasy league with out a message board."
I'm with Oceans45 below. Our 3 dynasty leagues moved (ported) to Fantrax on Thursday and Friday. It is way WAY better. It is free too. And always improving since the people there listen to their users. Only regret I have is that we didn't move a few years earlier. See you over there hopefully.

Wow...you've already opened the league's (well kind of as we can't upload the offline draft results until the 6th so...good job, sort of) and then you drop this bomb. Who is at Yahoo that is coming up with these decisions? This is beyond terrible as far as ideas go - the league message board is beyond critical to the league

REVERSE THIS DECISION!!!!
This is close to a deal breaker for our league. We will have to check out ESPN as a result. Sorry but to "surprise" the league with this decision is very poor on your part. Why not continue as usual for the year asking for feedback rather than just shut it down. You should reverse this decision ASAP. Our league enjoys the chat extensively and to have it missing takes a great deal of enjoyment away.
TERRIBLE DECISION!!! -

The more I think about it, I think this is just part of their plan: they want longtime private leagues to leave. I mean, why else get rid of something that longtime private leagues use the most and need to operate? Just another attempt to push us towards their money leagues—where message boards aren’t used as much—and their DFS product. I doubt them “gathering feedback” will change anything but I’d love to be wrong about that. Here’s hoping they still care about their longtime private leagues: bring back the message boards.

Eliminating the message board is a terrible idea. The corporate wizz-bang who came up with this idea obviously does not know the product or the people utilizing it. We do our setting up drafts on the message board and this change makes it difficult to do so. As a commissioner in multiple leagues this makes thing harder, and I doubt many will utilize the chat feature. We are strongly considering moving over to another platform for our leagues.
Why is yahoo making a terrible investment in something nobody wants or requested.
Idiotic. Bad decision. Clueless. -

Message Board is very very important in private leagues, less in public leagues.
It doesn't sounds good -

Chad M-
Fantrax is head and shoulders above yahoo.
Only thing that was keeping our Dynasty leagues here was the familiarity and Message Board communication organization.
I moved our 5 leagues over there Friday. It has chat that is very organized, and has a message board also.
Yahoo chat is so discombobulated you can't even tell what league you are talking to.
Very happy we moved!

This is really dumb. This league uses this for everything. The draft is run on message boards. What idiot came up with this idea

No message boards? Are you kidding Yahoo? Don't mess with us.

Used the message board all season for weekly recaps and playoff write-ups. Used for introducing new owners. Used for asking about potential trades. DO NOT GET RID OF IT!
