[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Well said, Jeffrey. With that in mind, please allow me to repost this for those owners lucky enough to have found this page or diligent enough to get have enlisted Yahoo!'s Help and they guided you here.
Commissioners and fellow owners: Please email you leagues and ask them to at the very least to come to this page and select the button for How Important It Is To You. If the want to go further, please ask them to comment to Yahoo that we the message board tool to function. Yahoo's Chat option is not an acceptable alternative. Thank you.

LOL
10 pages worth of complaints on this in 5 days. Now consider that this is just from people who were lucky enough to find the feedback page, and only among those who were taking a close enough look at their league to notice the boards being gone two months before the season began. Man, imagine what this is going to look like when the normal people start signing up for leagues.
Is this the end of Yahoo Fantasy? Doesn't have to be. Put the message boards back in!

Message boards are an extremely important way of communication around leagues, especially fantasy baseball! The larger roster sizes for fantasy baseball cause for more complexity, and commissioners post rules, guidelines, and stipulations on the message board for the league to view it easily. Some leagues also do their entire draft via the message board, so taking this feature away will cause us to think of other platforms. After many glitches and restrictions Yahoo has given us regarding fantasy baseball, we’ve still maintained our loyalty to your platform. Please bring back the message boards, and help prove that “loyalty” still matters.

My league has been trying different methods of communication to start this season including email, the chat functionality in the league, commissioner notes, GroupMe, etc. They are just not working effectively enough. I'm about to send them an email to vote on whether we should transfer our league to Fantrax. It's not ideal, but if we can't effectively run our keeper league on Yahoo I have to consider what is best for the league. It makes me sad that Yahoo is taking this action without the forethought into the impact this will have on so many leagues.

This is a terrible idea. I have multiple leagues that utilize the message board as part of the draft process. I have a separate league where the message board is vital for getting the league properly set-up. Frankly, I'm not sure two of my leagues can be properly run without the message board, which, if true, means that I'll have to end those leagues or move to a different fantasy provider. Also, the message board is the only channel for widespread communication to all league members; a league-wide e-mail doesn't work the same or provide the same benefit. Being able to communicate and start discussion with all league members is critical to the fantasy baseball experience. Please bring them back!

I see this has been mentioned multiple times, but I have multiple dynasty leagues where we utilize the message board to facilitate the league. Please bring it back.

Bye Yahoo. Thanks for all the good years. Very sad and disturbing that you take away something as simple but vital as a message board. Now we have to move to Fantrax and we will lose all the history trophies associated with our Yahoo Profiles. Our league has voted and agreed.....it's time for change. Peace.....

As others have said, those of us in keeper/dynasty leagues have utilized the message board feature to work around many of Yahoo's deficiencies in fantasy baseball. I have long been a Yahoo truther, despite suggestions by other league managers that we move our leagues to a different platform, specifically Fantrax. We resisted the change because Fantrax was still missing some features that we wanted to maintain in Yahoo. Unfortunately, the past few years Fantrax has caught, and now surpassed, Yahoo in terms of fantasy sports. It is time the we cut our losses and move to a new platform. One of our dynasty leagues has agreed to move and the other two will follow. Fantrax knows how bad Yahoo messed up with their message board removal. They are advertising on Twitter with the headline "Message Boards and League Live Chats are going strong at Fantrax. Now is the perfect time to upgrade those fantasy baseball leagues and move to Fantrax." We brought this feedback forum to league managers attention and one responded, "I'm not getting involved. Yahoo will yahoo no matter what I say." Ouch, your customers truly believe their feedback has no bearing on the decisions made by Yahoo. Off to Fantrax we go.

Speaking from a triad of branding, marketing, and the goal of optimizing enthusiastic participation; the message board communication has been essential for everything ranging from league discussions, owner recruitment, rule clarifications, how things work explanations, achievement congratulations, potential future settings, trivia, baseball commentary, member stories and posts of all of articles, links, laughs, and literally everything that makes a the yahoo fantasy baseball platform, the best and most uniquely equipped to maintain league cohesion and retention of passionate active participants. It is a MAJOR loss to the community-building aspects of competitively familiarity of league owners on the whole, especially in larger formats. It's a BIG mistake and I do hope that Yahoo realizes that removing the message board is a most disappointing and tone-deaf decision as to what makes Yahoo FBB so much more fun than other platforms. Please do reconsider with it only being February... the message board is a paramount tool for owner check-ins, declaring keepers, setting the draft order, coordinating draft days and times, posting season season predictions and so much more!!! There is plenty of time to bring it back. Please reflect and reinstate it, xray - 15yr Commish

Please bring back the message boards. It is the only way some of the managers in my leagues communicate. You might as well remove the trade feature.

The message board was the only place to have league wide announcements and official record of informafion. Our league has used yahoo for 18 years and are considering moving to another platform as a result

Really surprised yahoo has removed the messageboard. It is a crucial feature to our leagues' activity, for informing everyone of the draft picks in offline drafts etc and keeping people engaged throughout the year.
A messy 1-thread messaging app that you cannot access from a browser just cannot replicate this. Will be moving all existing leagues to another site - fantrax probably - due to this issue alone. Which will be a sad and avoidable end to playing fantasy baseball here for about 15 years. We can't the only ones who will be leaving because of this. Will do the same with other fantasy sports if they go.
Please reconsider and bring back the messageboards asap.

How about adding back the message window in Yahoo Fantasy baseball. It's missing there for some reason.

Please bring back the message board, our lg uses it to converse with each other, bring up baseball subjects and it keeps our league strong and together as we build friendships and bring new people into our league, it gets them up to speed and one of the group.

you can't run a viable fantasy league without quick, crisp mass communications. nothing faster than a commish post that immeadiatly shows up in our inbox while we aew working or playing online. It will also diminish all league rapport and the essetial to online advertising results ENGAEMENT and time spent, page views et al. It would be a hobbible management idea for yahoo to weaken their leagues with so many competitors ready to pick up disgruntled fantasy freaks.

Whose idea was this? Why do you feel it's necessary to "fix" things that aren't broken. Terrible, terrible decision that has screwed up essential communication in carefully constructed private leagues. Probably the worst decision in Yahoo Fantasy history - and that's saying something.

You guys continue to find new ways to make it difficult to continue using Yahoo as the fantasy sports site of choice.
Message Boards are essential for a league. There's just no other way to describe it.
Bring them back or watch long time leagues wither on the vine.

Please bring back the message boards, it is an absolutely critical feature for a fantasy league. We've been with Yahoo for over 20 years, but we'll have to switch platforms for the first time in 20 years if we don't have a message board. Hopefully you can add them back soon

No Message board? No league for us. 20+ years down into the dumpster. We've always been a big Yahoo FBB lover but this is absurd. Good thing is, we have Fantrax if Yahoo can't make a quick pivot to add the Message Boards back on.

First remove all chat. Second install a feature that tells a manager what player he should pick up. What's next do away with all the drafts and let Yahoo pick our teams for us? I can remember when one actually had to watch and follow baseball in order to win a league, now Yahoo does everything for you!
