[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Please bring back the message boards on the match up panels you used to have years ago. They were terrific and EVERYONE used them. Also reinstate the polls in the message board.
Thanks,

Why would you get rid of this? Place is being ran by idiots. It's how the whole league communicates with each other. Clearly instituted by someone who doesn't play.

join this league to boycott message board change:

This is ridiculous that you eliminated the message boards. it's the simplest and easiest way to communicate with everyone in the league. Pushing people to your terrible mobile app is unacceptable. The web interface is one of the main benefits of running fantasy sports on yahoo. If you don't reverse this decision, I will likely move to another platform moving forward (after 16+ years of preferring yahoo fantasy)

@Brain you said: "Wow. If ESPN or CBS didn't suck so much, we'd have moved our leagues there long ago."
Hint, FANTRAX does not suck and is totally free and lots of us have already moved over there. More options. Just not a threaded Message Board but threaded chat app that actually works and can be viewed on laptop in big screen mode.
They have help that responds really REALLY quickly to any questions you send them and also 2 free phone numbers to talk to people live if needed.
Baseball is Fantrax's first love too and they don't treat it like the ugly and neglected stepchild Yahoo has always treated it here to their football and basketball leagues.
Come join the countless Yahoo refugees that have already found a really great home there.

There's literally no way to communicate using the league website other than through email (which NO ONE WANTS). This is a TERRIBLE decision.

Its not even apparent how I get into Fantasy Chat and I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering. Did you make this decision with any information or did you just flip a coin? Not only does this seem like a decision that traces to a breach of your fiduciary duty of care, it suggests a complete conscious derogation of duty--IE bad faith.
At least make chat prominent. I guess we will just move our chat to Discord. This is a groundball double play to end the inning with bases loaded. Shameful...

We relied on the message board to conduct our offline draft. It was a great way of keeping track of communications in a threaded and easy to locate manner. Now you have to go outside of the fantasy site to your e-mails to look up prior communications. In addition, our league communications are sometimes include large lists of players and it doesn't work well with the chat feature. It also feels like a loss of community without the message boards. E-mails seem rather impersonal and outside of the fantasy "compartment." Chat may work better on the app but few people in my league use the app, it is "clunky" and information is not at your fingertips. We have looked into moving the league to another platform next season. I hope the message board feature returns because the one thing keeping a lot of people on Yahoo is the familiarity and now it is less familiar.

Do NOT remove the Message Boards from the yahoo site - we absolutely rely on the Message Boards for our league of 25 years on Yahoo. We have regular weekly communication on the Boards for all members to be able to see when their schedule/time permits.
Without the Message Boards, I am uncertain whether we will be able to continue to use Yahoo for our fantasy baseball league, and will look for other sites as better options. Thank you.

Just to add, after reading the posts below... I don’t think I’ve ever seen a message board topic where 100% of the posters were in agreement. this truly gives the impression that yahoo does not give a **** what its customers think, and I have to wonder why you bothered asking?
-
Ken Duncan commented
Why? Now we had to set up a text chat instead, which is fine but also annoying for people to receive so many messages at work and such. So we will adjust no problem. But from your perspective this makes no sense, unless you want us to spend less time on your site? I would’ve thought the opposite. In my opinion this is one of your worst decisions ever, right up there with when you got rid of the trash talk bubble. Please bring both back!

Was such a nice way to keep the league together.

I already posted on this but this is the dumbest year starting up our dynasty league. You say you are investing in chat to include other options, well why dont you have those in place before you just go and delete message boards. As a commissioner spamming emails with league stuff it is getting really annoying. Bad move Yahoo... Bad move.
You bring no more insight on what this transition is going to look like and have been "Gathering Feedback" for 29 days though for all 29 days it has been overwhelming negative feedback on this decision. At least come out and say the feedback is a waste of time and we dont care what our users think or something, so I stop checking to see if anything will change.

Yahoo! should put a lot more time into fixing what's broken or useless, like the app. That thing remains barely functional. But you chose to kill the message board, which many leagues use to announce trades, draft picks, rules changes, etc.? Wow. If ESPN or CBS didn't suck so much, we'd have moved our leagues there long ago. You need to revisit your priorities.

This is a HUGE DOWNGRADE to the site for users, for all the reasons listed below.

I do not understand why you would disable this feature. It allows members to discuss what they are looking for in a trade. It is also great before the season to discuss any rules changes. In custom leagues their is not logical reason to get rid of the chat. I will not be using Yahoo this year because of you disabling the chat.

*****Looking for one manager in head to head (6x6 ops/qs). Draft is March 24 at 6:30 pst, $150 buy in via league safe. Summer road trippin' - email me at RYANMOSERL@HOTMAIL.COM. Looking fo active manager who might want to return for years to come.
And yahoo - get your **** together and bring back the message board, enough is enough

I used message boards for all league rules, keepers, off-season trades, draft order, announcements, etc. Now I have to make a google doc for this instead and link it to commissioner note (which isn’t even visible on the app). Could u at least make the commissioner note visible if u are going to do this. Long league messages about the year over year rules won’t work in a little fantasy app group chat. Need it somewhere for easy reference throughout season.
