[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Let’s just start with how weak the app is. I can’t even vote on how critical getting rid of message boards are to our league, because it says I have to log in to vote. I’m logged in because I came to this through my leagues page. So frustrating. And speaking of frustration…our league uses message boards to post keeper declarations and trade discussions that can easily be accessed the following year for reference. We also use it to discuss and vote on rule change proposals for the league. Again because it can easily be retrieved in subsequent years. Of course this retrieval is easier on a computer then through the app, but we’re back to the first sentence.
Sure, the use of message boards for banter and nudging other managers has greatly decreased with the advent of texts, but for important league messages it’s vital.
Yahoo fantasy sports has been a bastion since their creation, and now it seems that they’re purposefully weakening the product.

Our league uses the message board all the time. We conduct our prospect draft through it most notably. Seems like a simple feature to keep running!!!

Message boards have been around since the beginning of the internet. Why? Because they are a simple, easy and essential way to communicate.
If there is a reason for this decision it would be nice if Yahoo had the guts to tell us why. It makes zero sense why this fundamental feature would be eliminated.
I think my favourite thing about this is the only way to officially complain about this is by using a Message Board. Ironic.

I’ve tried using the chat and it is not an easy task. The message boards were easy and extremely useful for trade communications and having everyone check in for the upcoming season. I will most likely be finding a new platform for my fantasy pleasure, since taking away the message board just made things more difficult. Thanks for ruining a good thing. 😡

The Shoeless Joe Jackson League had a solid and fun Message Board. The Chat doesn't sem to come close...

What's stupid is we had to use our phone for the chat, and the pc for the message board and it isn't even there anymore. I can't see my dynasty ream from my phone, but i can from the pc. If they're gonna be integrated to be used on both devices, better do it quick for your sake. If your new chat can be only used by phone, well, you already lost our league as it is. I was a Yahoo fantasy fan forever.

I'm not happy with the removal of Message Boards.
I'm even more unhappy that the chat function is seemingly not working from my computer. Works on my iPhone (from the App), not on my computer. I'd rather type on a Keyboard than a Phone.

Ok so let's state the obvious upfront that this is deeply unpopular for a lot of valid reasons. But I'll try to be the optimist here and give y'all the benefit of the doubt for a second. Message boards are going to be replaced by chats? How's that going to look because I'm still seeing the same weak chat option in my app. I think of chats as text messages, whereas I think of message boards as, well, message boards. Let's say I want to propose a change to our league settings, like replacing quality starts with wins, and I want everyone in the league to weigh in with their thoughts. Can you start chat threads with clear topic headers? Can everyone see the chats? Will the dialogue be easy to follow? Basically I'm looking for the existing message board setup in the chat. That conversation isn't happening without clear topic headers and everyone seeing the conversation in chronological order.

Yahoo has gone out of their way to make fantasy less enjoyable... They also removed career and situational stats from players home page... Somebody there is not thinking....

We have technology-challenged managers who do not use the phone app. I have navigated the phone app and it is confusing. There is no "chat" feature available to desktop users. We use the message boards to communicate and prep for the season. You have essentially destroyed my ability to set up my league for the season I know some managers will quit rather than adhere to these changes. this decision is utterly ridiculous. You are running 2 leagues that I have run for 2 decades.

What bunch of ****. You can't tell me that the technology is not available that you can't leave the boards alone while you figure out your up dates. Our boards are critical to our leagues. I may have to consider moving the entire league to another format. Why can't you leave well enough alone.

This is the worst idea you ever had. Our league is in several time zones. The league message board was our way of communication. HATE this change! Please fix this.

Use only the message board for communications with players. Need the message boards back the way it was prior.

We are currently in year 14 of our keeper league. Our group goes back almost 20 years using yahoo as our go to site. But we now have guys in England, New York and spread out in Canada (life happens) and the message board was always used in our league. I even posted in depth mid season reviews using the message board which our group loved. Half of our group meets in person every year to draft as well and its been a major pain without the message board this year. Of all the things to get rid of I have no clue why you guys decided this. Do you guys need money??? Geez I'd rather you post more ads for revenue than getting rid of the message board. Now we have resorted to texting which just means less traffic on your home page....smart move. Bring it back please!!
