[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Chat board does not work. All of the leagues are individual, no separate posts, nothing divided. Impossible to run a league from there. Everything we do in pre season and during the season is through the message boards, so everyone can see it including verifying transactions. Everyone I have talked to is leaving yahoo due to this. Are you completely blind to this or just don't care? Admit you made a mistake and bring back the message board. You have done a terrible dis service to those of us who have been playing with you for years and should be ashamed of yourself.. Admit you are wrong and bring back the message boards. You must realize that losing this group of people will be the beginning of the end for yahoo as people will start to think you just don't care about them and they will find other venues to go to for things other than you. You really need to reconsider your actions since as I said everyone I have talked to is leaving yahoo

Your chat feature is the absolute worse! It takes too much brain power to figure out how to post a message. Always wondering if you're posting to the right place or not. AOL Instant Messenger from the 90's is more advanced than Yahoo Fantasy Chat. Is this some lame attempt at reviving Yahoo Messenger?
Give me a shout if the Yahoo Fantasy Chat will actually work from a computer and not force us to use your mobile app. Many of my leagues just start Facebook groups to post messages.

I have to unsubscribe because too many replies are blowing up my email. Pathetic how Yahoo has handled the response. They don't give a s**t!!

I've always used message boards as the place for the league to maintain a record of important discussions re: rule changes. Inevitably, after a long off-season, we come back to a debate that was settled the year before, and people don't recall either what the resolution was or the rationale behind it. It's always been helpful to be able to quickly go back and review the prior year's discussion. Email is more difficult to lose track of; commissioner notes are, well, limited to commissioner updates; and Fantasy Chat isn't recorded (to my knowledge). Is there any functionality that will stand in for allowing review of prior notes, or are we simply losing that altogether?

Shea said "I suggest a "boycott" until the message board returns...delete any league you've created (and haven't drafted), and create a backup league on ESPN or Fantrax in case Yahoo really doesn't give it back to us."
Believe me once you move your league to FANTRAX you will NEVER move back to Yahoo even if they did fix this major problem. Which we know they won't. (And the other problems they have never fixed through the years ever).
Once you cross the Rubicon you don't go back because FANTRAX is a hundred times better. And because no one should come crawling back to Yahoo after they treated us this way.
Take some pride in yourselves and your leagues people and go port your leagues to a site like FANTRAX that listens to you, treats you like a real human being and has great customer service.

Just stopping by to say that the 2 leagues I run (one roto and one points) have both been moved to fleaflicker, where we already have dozens of posts in the message boards. The leagues were easy to set up, and we only lost 1 person in the transition. I can't wait for draft day over there. I hope it was worth it for yahoo to push me away, along with 21 of my league mates. Most of them have other leagues, too, and there's a mass exodus underway. We won't be back.

My leagues have for the most part started but I can assure you fools that this is the last year under a Yahoo platform. How can you make such an idiotic move and take away message boards? I don't care anything about chats, notes or what ever else you claim is the new direction to go , bring the message boards back or else you will lose a lot of players besides myself!

It would be better to have the message boards back. They facilitate communication, which is always something good. This android who is very pro-Icelandic urges their return-

Why would you Yahoo clowns continue to request feedback, when for the past month, you have been appropriately castigated, and shredded, for the most ******* decision ever made on your Yahoo platform? Stop gas lighting us by acting like you plan on reversing course from your ******* decision! You clowns have heard from hundreds of players, and YET, you STILL do not respond, or reverse course! Pathetic! Whoever made this decision should be fired. Bring back the Message Boards, ya idiots.

I would love to see the message boards come back. It was very useful and big part of our leagues. I do see a lot more players are complaining about the message boards being taken down. I do hope you will bring them back before the season starts.

Message boards are the ONLY reason my league has stayed with Yahoo. We're moving to a new platform SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE YOU HAVE STOPPED MESSAGE BOARDS. Our league has existed since 2002 and you've completely turned us off Yahoo.

so, there's no chat to get ready for the season and the message board is down. Brilliant. Put the message boards back, add chat if you want to, don't keep the message board content past year-end. Easy. Saves on cloud. Have both like CBS and Fantrax (we're leaving for one or the other if no message board).

Where is chat located on laptop or computer access? I can't find it.
Not everyone can jump on an app just to chat about things that concern the league.Using your email notification system just doesn't cut it, as many don't get email from Yahoo.
Like others have said the message boards are VERY IMPORTANT is some league set ups -

League message boards are important in complicated keeper leagues. In one league I require owners to post some things to the league message board. I will be tempted to move to a different platform.

Removing the message boards make the validity of your fantasy app less appealing. I will be floating the idea of moving to Sleeper without it as we used the message board for a number of things. Message board was used to display keepers to all, discuss league business, decide draft times, find new teams if someone dropped, make league rulings, essentially all league business.

The chat function is not sufficient for message board purposes. Bring back the message boards!
