[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

What is the reason for this change? Did people complain about it? The Chat function is not usable for long messages or tracking of info that needs responses, like on trades. This is crazy! Please return the message board to the leagues. Thanks.

100% agree with this message "This may be one of the dumbest moves to make. I highly doubt and judging by all of the comments below that absolutely no one wanted this. Bring the message boards back. This is a joke."
YAHOO you SUCK!

This decision remains absolutely ridiculous. What are you thinking? Clearly the feedback on this one is 100% on the Bring Back The Message Boards side. The code exists! Plug it back in!
My league can't stay without the message boards - it's partially run through them. Chat? What chat? Doesn't exist. So we're going to have to try to find another platform or just dissolve. Either way, if we leave - and we lose our league history - we won't be back. Sorry Yahoo, you got a good 20+ years of loyalty from me on your fantasy sports, but if you're going to spit in my face like that, I won't be back.
Does Yahoo do anything BUT fantasy sports at this point? Any other revenue? And you're going to push your customers out? Dumb.

My leagues will definitely miss the message board. My main leagues are 3 x 20 year old 6-team keeper leagues. Because we only have 6 teams we use huge rosters. Because of this, we use 2 different leagues (ie. 1 for hitters and 1 for pitchers) and manually calculate standings for the combined leagues. The message board is where we have stored all official things like standings, trades, tentative draft orders, etc.
I have always really enjoyed using yahoo fantasy and appreciate that it is a free service. But I have felt yahoo fantasy has been resting on its laurels for sometime. While the fantasy service provider landscape has filled with other more up-to-date, more flexible providers, I have still had the same response to every new league invite I receive: "Where is it hosted?" I think it's finally time to broaden my horizons.

The chat is useful in it s own way but messages posted in a chat do not have the same accessibility as those in the message board. Important messages were easily accesible in the message board, in the chat you would need to scroll up indefinetely to find older messages. Not happy with this change.

I can only assume this is due to some gross mismanagement of resources over at Yahoo. I can't think of any justification for eliminating a core aspect of Yahoo fantasy that has been implemented for over 20 years. This is a big F-U to your customers.

Big mistake dropping message board. This was the easiest way for teams to communicate, now you have taken it away. I'm afraid that you will lose some leagues.

Eliminating the message boards is awful. Boards are a good, easy way to reference conversations and topics of discussion from the preseason and start of the season when its late July or early August.
I also must be a ******* ****** because I can't seem to find the Fantasy Chat section on my browser - is chat only available through a phone app?
Ya'll are a bunch of morons over there.

Getting rid of the message boards is a horrible idea. We have always used it for easily accessible communications regarding a lot of items, such as discussing league settings changes, voting on live draft dates, etc., etc. The message boards are clearly visible to all teams accessing the league to they can easily view the posted reminders and other important items!!!

Removing the message board is a terrible idea. Our league has used this extensively to communicate with each other throughout the year and there is no "Fantasy Chat" even showing as available.

Bring them back i know football had a tough season with cancelling of games cinn & bills and people probably used them in a bad way .... but no reason to stop message boards ...............big part of leagues ...easy .....please leave a good thing alone

It is a shame that you have eliminated the message board. Our league used it constantly. It was helpful for starting the trade process, for rectifying issues and for the personal aspects. You should reestablish it before the season begins. Not a great move

We wait 6 months for Fantasy BASEBALL -- and Yahoo cripples it, for us.

Ending the League Message Board, is a mess. This is most of the fun & community. We can talk about new babies, scores/MLB games from the night before.. or as it happens. Threads carry on for weeks. BRING IT BACK. You eliminated the Head to Head, in-match Chat... and that was awful.

Bring the message board back! We've been playing in this Yahoo league for 20+ years. The message board is "critical" to our leagues. Please re-consider and bring it back.

Another reminder - for those who are wondering why this topic is only #6 - Rankings are based upon answering the question "How important is this to you?". All the topics above it have been on here for 15 months, so that is why they've gathered so many votes. Now with all the flak Yahoo has gotten in just 2 weeks, Ranking shouldn't matter to them, but if it matters to you, be sure to vote "critical" and tell your colleagues to do likewise.
Also, the chat feature is indeed available on the desktop. It is in the bottom right of every fantasy page screen. It is an icon consisting of a white square containing a blue circle containing a "chat bubble". Just because it is there doesn't mean much - the chat function is still a miserable alternative to a Message Board - most notably due to the lack of threading.

The message board feature is essential for communication in my league. Please bring it back. The chat is not adequate. We have been playing in our league together on Yahoo for 23 years. If the message board isn't brought back, we'll have to move our league to another site. Please bring it back. This is insane.

I've been giving this ridiculous decision of Yahoo removing the Message Board (MB) from our baseball leagues some thought. Perhaps Yahoo WANTS us to leave their fantasy platform in droves and that is their motive in the first place. Yahoo has paid no attention to us in addressing this critical issue and our overwhelming request to restore the MB. You can bet this is just the start of Yahoo's insane moves in that Yahoo will do the same with all other sports. Yahoo's new motto should be "A Message Board Removal Will Be Coming To Your League Soon"!!

Interesting ranking system Message Board removal has 895 comments and numbers 1 though 5 don't even total 895. Rank 1 is 266 comments, Rank 2 is 259 comments, Rank 3 is 212 comments, Rank 4 is 26 comments, and Rank 5 is 36 comments.
Sounds like to me someone doesn't want to address the real number one issue?
It is sad to see message boards move to the number 6 ranked item with compliant after complaint, yet Yahoo won't address bringing them back. We are at the point that we are discussing folding our two long running leagues or moving them. I made the comment to one of the teams that this reminds me of how AOL went from dominance to near extinction. Sad to see my loyal support of Yahoo in what appears to be a downward spiral.
