[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Unbelievable, tone-deaf, ignorant, arrogant, and rude af ...
A shocking slap-in-the-face ...
Making it 1000x worse is the lack of warning - allowing no opportunity for recurring leagues (whose managers have solely communicated through the ******* message boards for years) to talk through how we'd possibly adapt.
This change is the kind you warn about a year in advance ...
Message Boards are vital.
I'd pay a fee to have it in my leagues. The app absolutely sucks - there is no doubt that this change is an Extinction Level Event for Yahoo Fantasy Sports ...

Wow, another day, another opportunity for Yahoo to $uck.

I see yahoo added chat to desktop, a tiny step in the right direction. Problem is nobody will see it or use it. The message board was prominently displayed on the league page near transactions; easy to find and easy to read, not in a tiny window that’s only visible when you click a tiny icon in the corner. And we still can’t even post topics, reply on threads, etc. Hoping for a miracle in the next couple weeks…

Message boards are key to league function. Whomever made this decision on the Y admin side, clearly doesn't play fantasy sports. Already had to move a league of 17-years to another platform due to this nonsense.

I don't believe I have ever seen a posting response where 100% of the respondents say "DON'T DO THIS TO US!!!!!"
Is anyone from Yahoo reading these responses? OR, does anyone from Yahoo GIVE A SH#T WHAT THEIR USERS WANT??????
I am sure some Yahoo "yahoo" who has never played FBB convinced their Yahoo boss (who also never played FBB) that this was a great idea which would save Yahoo $800. THANKS FOR NOTHING, CLOWNS AT YAHOO -

Freaking bad decision to remove the message boards. Good chance I move the my four leagues to a new platform next year.

Where even is the "chat"? You have a banner message referring to a function that is no where to be seen on the league home page!

PLEASE BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARD. Our league used these boards to have league information all in one place, payment links, status updates, introduction forums, plus separate threads for each trade to review.
NOW WE CANNOT EVEN CHAT ON THE COMPUTER because there is no way to access the chat that is only available through the fantasy sports app.
Please integrate the chat into the desktop/web version and BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARDS.
FANTRAX is now the superior league service because they have message forums, chat, and allow up to 30 teams for MLB leagues. I have been asking for this for the past number of years. What gives?

Come on Yahoo !! You need to bring back the message board. I'm a commish in multiple leagues and I'm still trying to figure out a way to do our offline "slow" drafts without a league message board. There's just no easy, reliable way to do it. I'm getting so frustrated and I'm toying with the idea of just cancelling all my Yahoo leagues after 20 plus years. Chat's will not work, especially in its current state. Your e-mail league option is junk because you can't reply back because it's from a yahoo server. Doing an offline draft thru e-mail is not the way to go. Who wants their e-mail box full of ****. BRING THE MS BACK !!!

Jack Neff said: "I think you may be able to post invite links to your Fantrax or other leagues in Commissioners Notes to help move people over if you're a commissioner. Or use the email function, of course. That's about the best you can hope for on your way out."
What we did is our commish ported over our rosters to Fantrax then he simply sent out invites via it's email option. Done and done. Very simple and smooth transition.
Fantrax is great ... and free. And they immediately respond to any contact with them unlike the crickets you all hear here. I am so VERY glad we moved!!

The message board is pretty important to our league. Rules discussion, changes, trade disputes and general input from everyone involved are just as much a part of the fantasy experience as playing it. Communication is vital and taking that away, or making it more difficult doesn't make much sense.

This is awful. The chat feature has to be massively improved to make this workable. It doesn't notify me when I get new messages. The interface is a mess. I can never find new messages even when I look for them. I constantly miss chats from other players. You can't remove the message board until these problems are fixed.

I do not know who made this horrible decision but they are clearly unqualified to hold their present position. The message board is critical to our league. In fact the league was formed off of a Usenet message board over 20 years ago. It is not too late to right this wrong. Take a look at your feedback here- you are getting a massive pushback for good reason.
If it does not change expect to see a large loss of user traffic. Good luck explaining that when you are in your termination meeting. -

A serious thumbsdown to Yahoo for dropping message board. It changes the who complexion of the game. I know I can speak for many of my colleages as I am in many leagues and there is universal outrage for this negative action. Why was this done?

This is a very weird idea, why on earth would you do this? League communication is very important, yes there are jerks who post nasty stuff, but that's not common. You may want to rethink this one, seems unnecessary to say the least.

I cannot imagine the feedback you are receiving on this topic. I am sure it is negative and at times hateful.
To be clear, I think all of it is deserved. We use message boards to communicate about league rules and procedures, important dates for events such as keeper declaration and the draft, and to build camaraderie by getting to know one another.
Your decision to do away with the message boards is a huge mistake. Bring them back. Now!

To regain trust slowly explain what went wrong and how to use the chat. Two Ohtanis is bad enough.
Thank you for giving my leagues a year's notice to find a new platform.
The message board is the main venue for communication. Why should people use your league when everyone else offers that basic function for free?

The removal of message boards is absolutely ridiculous. We all know Yahoo hates keeper/dynasty leagues and you've incrementally made it hard that last few years, taking away the message boards was the nuclear option, let me guess next year you'll be taking away the keep player option too? Ridiculous and uncalled for! You cannot properly run a dynasty league using the league chat because there's no historical record in chat.
