[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

You guys are getting LAMBASTED in this forum for this moronic move, the one that YOU asked for feedback on. And no responses from you guys? Are you even considering bringing back the Message Boards? You should, for this was a stupid, stupid thing to do. Not only will many people head to other sites, costing you guys revenue, but you are ******* off a lot of us. Please put the Message Boards back. They are valued, very useful, and people are used to it. Let's goooo!

This is possibly the worst idea you guys have ever had. Not only is there no benefit, but it actually kills the way we run the league. We will have to go elsewhere as every other platform has a message board. Let me give a few reasons of the top of my head that I'm sure you've heard before.
1) No one sees the chat. Notifications rarely work. I am in about 13 leagues across three sports and NO ONE USES IT. I sent a message to try it and it went ignored.
2) Emailing doesnt work for the simple reason that the recipient cant reply. It comes from a Yahoo server so now I have to copy and paste emails into my outlook to send a message to the league?
3) We track keepers and minor league drafts etc on that board. We do not want that getting buried in peoples emails.
4) Most of us do our main work on the desktop version of the site. THERE IS NO WAY TO CHAT ON IT!!!!! The app is for updating lineups on the go. Not trying to see important data and numbers on a tiny 5 inch screen.
Smarten up Yahoo. Please don't force us to go back to ESPN.

Please don't take away the league message boards - I find your chat system nearly impossible to use, no one ever sees messages I try to send there, and one of my leagues is deeply dependent on the message boards to make our minor league system work. Chat isn't going to cut it as an alternative.
Removing the message boards is a really bad idea. I very much hope you will change course on this.

We have to track our dynasty league outside of yahoo, because they don't allow minor Leaguers (I know there are work arounds, but none quite work for our rules, so these message boards were important to keep track of things, and communicate transactions. if they upped their abilities of the yahoo fantasy software, maybe it wouldn't be important, but I have seen requests constantly to add more feature which haven't happened, instead you take away feature.

This is up to sixth of all time. Is it sixth in fantasy baseball history, or sixth in Yahoo fantasy sports history?
Hundreds of people have testified as to the great importance of communication in all fantasy leagues. It seems that lots of players don't use their fantasy sports address for anything else than Yahoo Fantasy Sports. Without a Message Board we and likely tens of thousands of Yahoo Fan Leagues will be forced to migrate to other providers. And for a variety of reasons many of us want to stay in Yahoo; why make us leave?
That's not a threat. It's a fact.

How do you even access the fantasy chat feature from the desktop version of Yahoo?
The whole reason we stick with Yahoo was the desktop version was better, but now it's unusable!!!
If you don't make chatting a main portion of the league page on desktop, we will definitely be leaving for future years! -

bad idea to remove the message boards. our league uses it religiously to post daily updates, trades being made ect. terrible idea to remove and now we have to figure out how to keep the league updated on all matters. stupid idea and now we may move our league

Terrible idea to remove the message board. if it's already part of the program, why remove? A transition year or two would be nice to see what gets used more instead of just dropping the MB.

Add chat rooms
Add a chat room to main league page and another between two teams in weekly head to head competition. Allow each league commissioner to opt out during season if managers abused.

The message board needs to come back. It is the KEY to being able to communicate with people. AS many others have mentioned I don't know many of this people in real life. The season starts in less than 2 months, I hope Yahoo! makes this right.

Really disappointing decision Yahoo. The message board was how we facilitated rules changes each season and encourage trade discussion. Please reconsider adding back this function.

Usually, when Yahoo opens the league each year, it's like a National Holiday. The message board is alive and well, keeper questions, commissioner posts, rule suggestions, etc...this year, the league is dead. A Commissioner Note...relaying the fact there is no message board and good luck finding stuff in chat...that's it. When are the chat updates coming? After our keeper deadline? After our draft? Why did Yahoo even open the leagues up...they ain't ready.

It's how we all communicate. I don't know these people in real life but for 10+ years this league has used the message board to talk with one another. Boneheaded move by yahoo on this one.

I`ve been commish of the league named MAJOR LEAGUE, for over 10 years now. We depend on the messenger for trade vetoing, trash talk, trade talk, and setting up the keeper league. To start changing things now would make setting this league up very difficult,to sat the least.

Many of the leagues I co-commish are so customized that they cannot be run without the message boards. Since we do not like cookie cutter leagues, it is likely the number of leagues we will run will go from 16 to 2. They are 16 to 20 team leagues. You will be losing a lot.
Neither of us commissioners use the Yahoo App regularly. The Commish does not even own a smart phone. Chat will need to be available on the desktop platform to work as you intend it. I just came here to see how you view chat in the app and can’t figure it out. In the past, I’ve only seen the chat messages when I draft via the app.
I think you are cutting your own throat by eliminating the message boards
