[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

This decision has our league considering another fantasy sports platform, even though we've been on Yahoo! for many years and many leagues. We use message board a lot for league camaraderie. I don't understand why you would remove it.

It feels like Yahoo has been trying to drive us towards their DFS and money league products the past several years...and ignoring their longtime leagues. Our league has used Yahoo for 20+ years. The message boards were vital for league communication, rule changes/suggestions, keeper information, etc. The answer is pretty simple for my league mates and me, we just won't be using their DFS or money league products until they put some effort back into their original products.

Is this their way of trying to squash the adverse reaction to the "changes"?

What kind of **** is this? A 12 team league and my first pick was #21. Yahoo isn't!

Bring back the message boards. Chats would be ok...if it is setup just like the message boards, in the same place as the message boards, and are basically just like the message boards.

To say I'm disappointed in Yahoo!'s decision to remove message boards is an understatement. The message boards are vital to running our league, a league I have managed on Yahoo! since 2001(and was playing other leagues prior to 2001).
Not only do I feel like this is a bad decision, it is inexcusable to take this tool away during the most critical time of our season without being prepared to launch the "new and improved" method once the leagues opened for business.
We have our annual "winter meeting" scheduled for Sunday night, and one of the topics on the agenda is to move the league to Fantrax. Fantrax already has more tools and customization options than Yahoo!, but Yahoo! works for us and this is where we would prefer to keep our league. Without this vital tool, we might have to consider moving for good.

I may have to rethink about where I play my Fantasy sports every year now. If I stop playing Yahoo Fantasy Sports then I might as well delete my email account and be done with Yahoo. Only reason I still use Yahoo mail is because my use of their Fantasy sports. Yahoo crossed my red line with this move! Stay tuned.

I am very disappointed in Yahoo's decision to remove league message boards. I truly feel that they are vital in communicating team needs and wants as well as trade reviews etc. Please rethink this and bring back league message boards!

Please bring back the league message boards. Several of my leagues have used the message board for our league draft which takes place over several weeks leading up to the season. This is critical to the function of the leagues. The boards have always been a place for managers to suggest rule changes for upcoming seasons and to conduct league votes and feedback on proposed changes.

Fantasy baseball league starts in 3 days and you have no mock drafts?

Removing this critical functionality for league communication without notice right as the season began was horrible. As you've seen from all the comments on social media and elsewhere, we can't function some of our leagues without it. My leagues are in the process of figuring out where to move for all of our fantasy sports needs and have to do it on a tight timeframe - and with limited communication - because of this change. This is the biggest blunder Yahoo Fantasy Sports has ever made. You can't be so foolish as to not have a backup plan to reimplement this when it went South - implement that plan and restore the boards, please.

Is this a bad joke? I’m stuck for this year, but will be moving my leagues off Yahoo next year.

Without the message board, the whole experience of yahoo fantasy sports will be greatly diminished. It is a simple and direct way for all to see posts about trades. In one league, the commissioner files long interesting reports weekly. The league managers can then directly give feedback. I could go on and on, but please bring it back.

I have no idea what "Fantasy Chat" is or where to find it.
Please bring back the message boards. -

This topic ranked #15? Just goes to show you what liars they are, and the propaganda that Yahoo is now famous for. Silence everyone, even tho the message can only be seen by 11 other people. Make no mistake on what this decision is all about, the woke left that now have completely taken over Yahoo, hate "Free Speech" with a passion!

OK. You in Engineering seem to be fixated on this Fantasy Chat thing. In my opinion, here are the minimum requirements:
1. Threading - All posts need to be able to be attached to one particular topic - and each topic should be readily accessible by all owners.
2. Chat window needs to be expandible to at least a size as large as 1/4 of a laptop screen.
3. Each post needs to be date/time stamped.
4. An individual post needs to be able to span a minimum of 5000 characters.
5. It should be easy to cut and paste to and from a chat post.
6. This revised Fantasy Chat needs to be implemented no later than March 1, 2023. I think that my leagues could cope with that - but many leagues will clamor for an earlier date.
The end result will frankly look a lot like a Message Board. My response to that is "Duh". But if you want to engineer a substitute solution in a 3.5 week timeframe, be my guest. But that March 1 deadline is pretty much a "drop dead" date. Any later date would not be sufficient for most keeper/dynasty leagues. In my opinion, if you can't make that commitment, the only responsible thing to do is reinstate the existing Message Board for one more year - until the new Fantasy Chat features can be incorporated.

Super DUMB idea dropping the message board. Things get lost in email. Hardly any owners use your app, because it is prone to dropping players accidentally. So nobody will be using the app for Fantasy chat. You need to make Fantasy Chat available on the web interface. Otherwise, Yahoo stands to lose many leagues. Every keeper league, that I am in, using the messaging feature to manage some aspect of keepers in their league.
