Box score should be the priority
The new way to display active MLB games is less than ideal. The default should be the box score. I liked it better when the play by play was just another column to the right of the box score. I definitely do not need to see the tweets of writers during the game. Those tweets tend to be "I better say something", but that something is not very interesting or informative.

too much scrolling. Bring back fantasy points at the end of the game.
Really hard to follow games with this new display. I am looking for an alternative
Do not like the new look at all. hate it. It's a mess, cluttered. You have to scroll and slide
really not what most people are looking for. -

Can we get a half inning boxscore summary before the game stream? I'm tired of having to scroll through 12 tweets to see how someone reached base or who scored. You guys used to have it but took it out to post all these dumb tweets. You guys should be making thing simpler and more user friendly, not frustrating and time wasting.

We appreciate new things... and I resist the impulse of "bring back the old format". We try the new things for a while, but many of them have disappointed.
To be fair, yahoo have added a lot of great new things, in the past 20 years. Take sports, for example, besides box score, we got play-by-play, game summary, live game info, etc. Then splits stats, situational stats, matchups, add/drop buzz (fantasy)... we come back year after year, and the experience was enhanced. There are also many good writers, Jeff Passan, Andy Behrens, Woj, etc. Just stating some personal preferences. I also like yahoo news, finance, mail, world... and have fond memories of services like map, photo, and groups even after other companies took over those areas.
Some more recent changes are more baffling... the dark background/white text (last year or so... now gone) was quite disastrous. The live stream/tweets, large graphics of games in progress (was just a list, quickly sees many live scores), etc. are not good. Products can change and improve. But if it takes more clicks to get to trivial info like box score, or it takes more scrolls, or it takes more time to stare at the screen to search, the product becomes inferior. -

Agree, and it's simple: Box score good. Tweets not!

Box scores need to be the default view or at least a user designated default. To all who have commented, please keep submitting this complaint and voting on it.
To Yahoo!, while some of your additions and changes maybe a new way of viewing in-game coverage you should give the user the freedom to set their own viewing preferences. It's unbelievably annoying forcing us to navigate to the box scores after selecting a game. On that note the huge tiles used to display the different games is also terrible, which makes navigating between games more of an exercise of endless scrolling; if I want a Facebook experience I'll just go there. I want box scores!Your default "Game Stream" view is not entirely bad but surely it can be placed to the side or at least share the screen with the box score instead of taking up the entire page. Also it is flawed because while providing a nice pitch-by-pitch live update of the current at-bat previous at-bats only show pitch location and none of the pitch info that the live at-bat shows. You already post the live at-bat at the very top of the page, so It's basically redundant, incomplete and uninformative to have the entire page be filled with the previous at-bats. We can see that in a box score or summary if we choose to.
Box score please. And then let us choose to see the summary or pitch-by-pitch recap of an at-bat, with the pitch type and mph etc., without having to navigate away from the box score view.

"Scroll baby scroll!"
Scrolling doesn't fix the problem. There's no longer a game summary section. It needs to be brought back.

We use yahoo sports BECAUSE of Fantasy.... Fantasy Sports is predicated on Box Scores! Making it harder to get to the box scores makes me want to switch sites for Fantasy.

The new box score layout is AWFUL. Yahoo had it perfect before. Why change something so simple into something so convoluted? I now use a different site for looking at box scores, which I do on a daily basis.

Couldn't agree more -- the box score should be the top priority. This means standard formatting, not having to scroll to find it, not having to wade through social media.
Baseball fans and fantasy baseball nerds alike just want the numbers. Everything else is distracting. Not that there's not a place for new stuff, but clarity should always win out.

Yes, when I hit MLB scores I want to see the graphics of who's on base and the box score for every game. I can see that if I hit standings, but it should be on the MLB scores page too.

I agree.. it has become a nightmare to try and follow a baseball game on Yahoo. The change has made me switch to mlb.com for my score update. I liked yahoo because of the simplicity but if you guys are gonna make it complicated and slow, then i might as well go to the much more informative (Still complicated) mlb.com

Your new "improved" version has all this extra fluff of graphics and pictures that make it very tedious to view the basic play-by-play info - which is all that I need and want.

The new format is too unwieldy with too much information. I prefer a box score and a play by play with an option to access a pitch by pitch and chat room if I so desire which I do not. I have removed Yahoo Sports MLB from my Safari bookmarks and replaced it with ESPN which gives me the information I want the way I want it.

Where are the scores you keep going to this new format when we want scores and stats like you used to have... this site sucks

Does anyone from Yahoo! read this? Seriously, how is it that when you're looking at a fantasy players score, you click on the score of the game, it doesn't take you to the box score?
That's just common sense 101. What was always the simplest and most straight forward interface has now failed spectacularly. Seems like a surefire way to lose people who use yahoo for their primary fantasy baseball.

Agreed, default should be box score. Play by play should not be the default. I can't imagine many people follow yahoo for play by play action when they are so many better alternatives.
Yahoo, thanks for the lame sponsored ad links. You are regressing incredibly fast and fantasy community is noticing it too. You were great when your sports stats pages were simple, you make it a chore to pull up that info now.

Yahoo used to have the best boxscores in my opinion. As a compromise to your users and advertisers, can't the default box score configuration be set by your logged in users by a switch in the settings menu? If everyone leaves the site, no one is going to click on the advertiser links.
