How can we improve New Mail?

Filters

You used to be able to "filter" emails straight from the body of the email. Now there's not an option for that. Instead you have to open the settings, create a filter, going back and forth to the actual message to create the filter. Bring back the option of "filter emails like this" in the body of the email.

    Need to fix the filters... I agree with Jeff Chisholm... I tried putting on a filter and it did not work... had to go back in and try it again... still did not work... finely I went back in and tried it again and I think it work this time. To complicated...

    Please consider adding the option of filtering emails straight from the inbox. You used to be able to do this. Select email and u had "filter emails like this". Additionally marking emails read by pressing "k" used to work and it doesn't anymore. It was so useful.

    I agree. I loved the ease of creating filters in the old version. Please bring this feature back.

    I need this option reworked. Setting filters is too cumbersome.

    It's still possible to create filters.. it's just a pain in the @$$. I very much want them back.

    I agree. It's unwieldy in this newer form. For each filter I want to make, I need to copy the email address of the sender, then click settings, then click more settings, then click add filter, then paste the address in and hope it copied properly/remember correctly or I get to back out and start all over.

    I repeat put back the filter item that allowed us to easyly deal with email.

    The old way to create a new Filter was easy - now it's nearly impossible. Bring back the old "Filter e-mails like this one" capability.

    I agree, it was really easy in old mail to right click and create a filter, now to create one from scratch you have to look up & type in the details - very slow!

    1. Setting filters on emails should be right from inbox by right clicking and setting the rule
    2. rules should have "or" condition where I can set various conditions in a single rule
    Filters are one of the most cumbersome.

    Actually, you can't toggle back and forth to the actual message or you have to start all over!!!! SO FRUSTRATING!

    The new way to create filters are just terrible. Can't use it. Going back to old theme until "Filter emails like this" is back.

    I used to be able to create a filter by click on an email and selecting filter emails like this. Bring that feature back.

    Also, the new mail is so slow that it is almost unusable. Maybe I should clean up my inbox, but it didn't used to suck this hard.

    I agree that lack of a filter in old mail is a deal breaker. Old mail has a great interface. New mail not so much. It seems to be just colors and fluff, nothing substantial.

    Yes ... switch it back. It was easy and intuitive before, i can't even find it now.

    Filtering needs to be much easier and faster, return it to the ellipsis at the top of the inbox!
