How can we improve New Mail?

I need to access Yahoo mail from my phone, using my current Mail app

I can no longer send/receive mail from my Android phone, using the Mail app that came with the phone. I'm forced to re-enter my password every time I want to retrieve my mail.
When I check my account settings, it says imap/pop3 settings are not setup, but they are.
