Just return to the previous version. Not one thing you've 'improved' is, in fact, improved.
The performance is worse than it was. The additional elements are distracting & useless. The re-arrangement of icons makes it less useful.
It is a conceit of the mediocre that garbaging up a product with unwanted & pointless 'features' is somehow indicative of progress. Yahoo would have better served its user base by not fixing something that wasn't broken.
