How can we improve New Mail?

where are my old EMAILS?!?!?

I have been saving important receipts and information in my email for years, suddenly everything past 45 days ago is missing!! I WANT MY EMAILS BACK!!!!
search shows the topic but when I click it there is no results......Yahoo really screwed the pooch on this update....time to move to gmail
