How can we improve New Mail?

Need help turning off the "ding" sound on email notifications.

This is not an idea. This is a problem needing a solution. Every time I receive an email, I am notified by a "ding" sound, even though I have turned-off "Notifications". How do I turn-off the "ding" sound, please? I use a Mac laptop.

    What a joke! Support wants a SCREENSHOT of a computer making DING sound. Gimme a break!!
