Cannot upgrade to Yahoo Mail Pro or Access + Forwarding
Automatic email forwarding will be discontinued in free Yahoo from 1 Jan 2021 and I am unable to upgrade browser-based Yahoo Mail to Pro with a non-US VISA card or PayPal.
Response from Yahoo:
Unfortunately, we're only accepting cards that are mostly registered within the US. If your card does not have a US billing address, your bank must support AVS (Address Verification System) for it to work.
Our banks (including VISA cards) are subject to Financial Intelligence Centre Act.
Ironically, I can update Android app with SAME card via Google payments, lol.
I have never encountered such a restriction with an online purchase before, and I have even been a paying Pro subscriber before.
Effectively this means all non-US users who use email forwarding will migrate off Yahoo entirely.
How insular, yahoo wants to restrict their product tp <5% of the world population.
Absurd. Especially since I have been a paying Pro user in the past.
