Yahoo Shutdown in China
Why do you want to delete my data on Feb 28 2022 when I am currently only visiting China. I want to be able to access my email when I leave China. I did not create my mailbox in China. Stopping access in mainland China is fine. But why delete all the data? You should have a way to see if an email account has been accessed from a country other than China, and give the owners of such accounts the option to retain their data.
I assume the Chinese govt may have asked you to delete all Chinese email accounts. But because I access my account from China does not make it a Chinese email account. I am only visiting. For some time now Yahoo has been lagging behind in terms of technical competence. You cannot decipher chinese accounts from non-chinese accounts? Don't you know in which country an account was first created? Does a visitor accessing an account from China, make his account a Chinese account?? This looks like an erroneous policy to me.
