"No New Emails" message in the top tab
Why does it now say "No new emails" in the tab at the top? Previously that tab just contained my email address and - Yahoo Mail, unless there actually was new mail. Now the extra unnecessary words makes it look like there IS new mail when just glancing at it quickly. Is there any way to opt out of this?

AGREE!! why do you try to fix what is NOT broken? fix the issue of spam mail going into my regular mail. i spend more time trying to fix that - view in error - that could get virus.

Same! It's a huge distraction if you leave the tab opened.

Yeah, this change was a bad move.
When I saw the parentheses before, it meant new email and I could see it from across the room.
Now, it looks like that all the time and that is just an awful change for no reason.
Please, Yahoo, PLEASE! Do away with this as soon as possible. It's terrible and for no reason. -

The sad part of this downgrade is that it will not resolve the problem of a browser which has failed to update, despite our suffering otherwise. Where the identifier is no different than previous, email, or not, cannot identify a browser which is no longer looking for a new email. This has happened to me numerous times, and as a programmer who understands persistent connectivity this new front end label, for what is a midend problem cannot solve it. If the browser has failed to update, as a result of modem or DSL/Cable issues it will absolutely report no new emails, despite reconnectivity, and our thematic torture. With the only solution being an email server based, browser demand trigger by the email server to require an absolute refresh of browser every X-minutes. Sadly this is not possible, because the browser is unaware of its modem caused nascent nature, only the email server can make this request, if, at all. When a connection goes dead-eyed in my 30 years experience there is no solution but user prompt, like a last update notified on the webpage. Meanwhile we will suffer their poor code, poor front end execution, and distracting experience.... things disconnect irrevocably, and sometimes only the user can become aware of this. Don't torture us all because of such.

(No new emails)
Standard techno downgradism from yahoo? The old system was fine, but you got bored with it, then you started losing users mysteriously, but its okay only a few complained. I'm here because gmail sucked more every day. So, they lost me through this type of nonsense. And I'm off to outlook next. How much longer do you want to keep me? This feature is a nuisance downgrade, for a lowest common denominator society. Enjoy the idiots after me, because I never go back.

I HATE this feature. Hate it. And it's so unnecessary. The default is that you have no new emails. If there's a number, then you have new emails. Everyone who uses email understands that to be the case. Now I'm distracted by it, and my eye is constantly drawn to that tab as if new mail has come in. I don't know whose idea this was, but it certainly wasn't user-generated. I guarantee not one person requested a (no new emails) designation on the tab.
