New @yahoo.com.cn accounts cannot receive any emails – MX record is null
I recently registered a new Yahoo Mail account with the domain @yahoo.com.cn (example: xxxxx@yahoo.com.cn).
I can log in to the web interface normally and access the mailbox, but the inbox remains completely empty. No emails from any external sender ever arrive (including test emails sent from Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
Technical observation:
- DNS lookup for yahoo.com.cn shows a null MX record (MX 0 .).
- This means the domain is currently not configured to accept incoming mail at all.
- In contrast, yahoo.com has proper MX records pointing to Yahoo’s mail servers.
Background:
yahoo.com.cn was historically used for Yahoo China email. After the China service shutdown years ago, it appears registration for @yahoo.com.cn was re-enabled, but the mail infrastructure (MX records) was never restored.
Could the Yahoo team please:
1. Confirm whether @yahoo.com.cn is officially supported for receiving email.
2. Restore proper MX records if this domain is intended to work.
3. Or provide guidance on migrating / converting these accounts to a working domain (e.g. @yahoo.com).
This affects any newly created @yahoo.com.cn addresses and makes them unusable for receiving mail.
Thank you for looking into this.
