Colors/Themes
I did not like the gray background of read e-mails. The unread ones should be bold black as they were previously and the read ones should be on a white or lighter background. It is currently very confusing...

The grey background of read is so unpleasing to me. Please allow us to change this.

Cannot change the background color. That plain white background is boring to look at. Changing the background to different colors made the emails looks fun brighten up the page. I hate that that can't be done anymore. The "SETTINGS / Appearance" button does not work and does not have any choices to choose from to change the color.
It's really boring! Change it back!!!! At least we had more choices to chose from!!!! -

The new version is cumbersome and doesn't look as good. I have to hunt for the UNREAD option now to bring up all my unread emails, which is very frustrating. I also would love to see some THEMES, preferably with the ability to upload our own background - the way I can do with my Gmail.

AGREE!!!!!! Please make unread emails bold and read emails unbold. Remove the grey background. It's WAY TOO DARK! So hard to read.

We should be able to change the color of read emails. Having them grey is beyond confusing. Please give options or change back to classic mail.

These icons are distracting and offer no value. Give us a way to turn them off.

very few options to change appearance, new version extremely difficult to read, too grayed out, need black fonts for crisp easy to read emails and anything in the application. need better contrast, too blurred together

Allow more themes with different colors. The new version options are too hard to read especially for some of older people

Why can't we select/change the appearance of emails so that it's personalized? This new version is HORRIBLE! Give us back the option to return to the Classic version!!!

Color contrast, fonts, text and line spacing for all forms of the new yahoo mail UI, are poor.
It's visually difficult to read, sort, You've made it worse and difficult to use.
Please return ALL functions and visual items back to classic view.
NO new distracting colors, themes, fonts, or text/line spacing. JUST the Classic. -

So hard and aggressive on the eyes to only have black and white.
Staring at a computer all days makes eyes weary --- need themes back to tone done the aggressive nature of just black and white type!
TAKING AWAY FUNCTIONALITY is NOT and upgrade -- and certainly not better! -

Very uncomfortable on the eyes. Can you just put it back. EVERYTHING worked quite well and in a blink of an eye, with no notice it all changed and not for the better at all!

Why does my inbox look all gray? It makes it look like I've highlighted messages but haven't. It's unappealing.

They grey highlighted ones should be the new ones as in the old version. It is too confusing to have it the opposite colors. Plus without the blue dot, its really not easy to see the new emails.

I find the colors visually exhausting. The white is too bright and the dark is too dark. I previously had a nice calming blue background which was easy on the eyes. At least give a middle road!

Yahoo says the themes and colors were "too much upkeep", yet Gmail has more themes and colors than Yahoo ever did and they don't seem to have any problems with it. Clearly, Yahoo must have been doing something wrong to make things more difficult than they needed to be, and they NEED to figure out what it was so they can bring themes and colors back. At a minimum, I would like my email page to be anything other than blinding white and pitch black; the contrast hurts my eyes.
