Stop the advance to the next email
This just started, but I noticed when I'm reading a long email and I'm scrolling through it, it advances to the next email, and I'm not done reading the one I was on. So frustrating! I tried to find a way to stop or disable that feature, but there's not an option. So I have to go back several times and open up the email I was reading to finish it before it advances to the next email. I hope my description makes sense?

There seems to have been a change to me email as of 9/26/25. Now when I scroll to the bottom of my email, the next email in my inbox opens. I didn't realize what happened at first, but slowing down and scrolling again I caught a prompt at the bottom of the window saying that if I continued to scroll the next email would be open.
I HATE this feature and find it very frustrating as it is advancing to the next email when I don't want it to. Trying to get to the very bottom of an email message without opening the next one is challenging.
I have tried searching for the setting to turn this off and can't find it. I even did a Google search and the AI overview (unreliable I know) called the feature "Auto-Advance" and said turning it off could be found under Settings > More Settings >Viewing Email. While those exact options don't match what's in my email, I had previously looked under Viewing Email and I see nothing that talks about scrolling to open an email or auto advancing to the next email.
Please provide directions for disabling this feature. It is extremely frustrating.
