[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

This was a horrible idea on Yahoo's behalf. Chat is limited to viewing size and not as reliable for communicating detailed info with other members.
This is making things difficult preseason where lots of info was made public in keeper leagues.

It makes no sense to remove the message board from private leagues. In most cases these players know each other and communicate through the message board. I have ran a league for close to 20 years and this is very disappointing. James Ramey

My leagues used the message board all the time to communicate with other managers. It was the main way. I am considering leaving Yahoo for another platform that allows message boards. I think this was a terrible decision by Yahoo.

This is the dumbest move yahoo could make. I don’t check the emails from the league—I check the main page message boards. We post trades, discuss league happenings and rule changes, vote on matters.

My league will be moving to another format ( espn)

What could Yahoo do worse than remove the message boards? They can change and remove important statistics from players' player cards. Please bring back the yearly total stats for a player as well as the message boards.
To All,
We are upset with what a company is doing to a fantasy baseball platform, but wait until this kind of terrible customer service practice is implemented at your local grocery store or bank.Times, they are-a chang'n

To the minuscule number of posters to this thread who said--I'm paraphrasing--oh, the message board was not important in our league or our league did not use the message board all season. What? I sure as **** wouldn't want to belong to your leagues. They had to be awfully boring and unfriendly, or perhaps even a ghost league where you were the only member. All my leagues, as a commish or a member, uses the message board 2 or 3 times a week if not more. Message boards are used, and critical, for conducting league business and maintaining the integrity, competitiveness and friendliness of all leagues. You few must be Yahoo employees or being paid by Yahoo with those insane suggestions on the ability to run a legitimate league without a message board to we overwhelming majority who want the message board back.

The decision to not have boards is looking worse every day when trades happen and there is no certainty that your message is being viewed through the email feature. I think this will ultimately backfire for Yahoo

So... 5 of our Fantasy Baseball leagues were through Yahoo, every single one of them have been moved to a different platform. How dumb can Yahoo actually be? I will no longer use their daily Fantasy since I no longer have a use for their Fantasy App. I've never tried Fanduel or Draftkings but I'll have to choose between the 2.

Is there a way to use fantasy chat from the desktop interface?

This is unacceptable. It's the main form of communication for the entire league for over 15 years! My league will be forced to move away from yahoo if this is the way its going to be. I am very disappointed.

Give the message board back!!!!
All members of our 15 year league don't use the same social media platforms so there is NO uniform communication. If this continues, we will be forced to move away from Yahoo and find a different platform for our league.Love the fact that NONE of the COMMENTS are responded to. Great way to lose

This makes no sense and is ruining our long standing league

You guys are ******* stupid to move just to chat. Not everyone wants to use their phone for the leagues. Gonna lose a lot of players with this

Now, I have 2 leagues in which League messenger doesn't even show up. Without the more dependable Message Board that leaves players only emails with which to communicate.
Ridiculous because many players turn off the email settings. Please explain to your clients why this poor decision to remove the message board was made.
Can we expect some type of improvement to the messenger? Right now it's pretty bad. -

Terrible decision. I'm sure you've heard all the reasons why, so I will leave it at that.

The message board is a very important part of any league that continues over multiple years. there are keeper leagues that I have drafted on the message boards, there are minor leaguers rights to keep track of in some deeper leagues, there are rule change votes that are better to do in season for the upcoming season while everyone is focused and paying attention. problems can be talked about and resolved on a message board where as in chat and in emails it disappears(plus your default email setting for leagues doesn't allow to just hit reply....), commisioner notes don't allow for league discussion. i have had multiple leagues move to fantrax solely for the lack of your message board deletion. this will likely expand into football and basketball next season. i don't understand how you couldnt have resolved this? we have downloaded an app for sorting and everyone is planning on leaving next year once we decide where to move to. i highly recommend figuring it out

Removing the message boards eliminates conversation on individual topics. This is asinine

I have been playing yahoo fantasy baseball for over 20 years. In my opinion, not having message boards in public leagues is not a big deal. There have been leagues where the entire season would be played without one message. I have posted messages to get conversations started with zero replies. Other leagues may average about five or six messages for the entire season. I have not played in yahoo private leagues for four years now, but I do remember the message boards being a very important part of communication. So I do understand how those players are upset this year. In conclusion, private leagues probably need some sort of message board format, while public leagues are not necessary.
