[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Message boards are critical to our league, and I would think for all leagues. It's the easiest/best and most consistent way to communicate with ALL teams, as teams are checking the league website on a daily basis to check/adjust their teams, stats, etc. VERY disappointing to have the message boards removed (and will make me re-think using Yahoo for our fantasy football leagues and other fantasy leagues, in the future).

We use message boards as our main source of communication. We do a deeper league and it's much easier and less convoluted to use message boards to communicate. The app has not been a good replacement so far as notifications, despite being on, don't alert regularly and it's just not as convenient or useful. Huge loss and we're considering moving the 20+ year league to another site after this season.

Yahoo is NOT bringing the Message Board back here but the good news is that FANTRAX is totally FREE. No need to pay for a good Message Board or anything else FANTRAX offers. It is light years better than Yahoo so copy and paste your league there.
Hey FANTRAX actually has support that helps you and answers questions promptly and takes and acts upon suggestions as well. You are treated like you matter there so why are you or anyone else posting here still here? Go to where you are treated with respect and go quickly. Don't suffer through another full year of Yahoo!

Yahoo will lose teams over this idiotic decision. More Managers are so frustrated they have quit
playing in our dynasty and auction leagues!

I've seen what a cluster the main Yahoo news message boards are - you post a message, and it's never seen again. That being said, that needs fixed, and this is messed up. This is my 15th year playing Fantasy Baseball. I can count on one finger the time someone was abusive on the message board. There were way more times that it was real community, including expressions of sympathy/concern when someone had a death in the family and had to drop out. I'm sorry you find this hard, Yahoo, but it's what you signed up for, and what we thought we were getting.

We used our message board all the time. Our league consists of multiple sports and we used the message board extensively to post details of trades/pick swaps that we would need to see/remember for next year. Where will the historical record be now? Many yahoo users are in leagues that have span many years/ decades. The message board was our historical log book. I get having polls etc., sounds fun, but what's the harm of just keeping the message board??

At what point does Yahoo see that this is a terrible decision? This feedback isn't enough? Has there been any explanation as to why this decision was made?

I'm posting again to stress that this was the worst possible idea possible. It was unanimously rejected in the leagues I am part of. I've been playing Y! fantasy sports since the late 90s and I am seriously considering moving away from it even if I need to pay for joining a system which offers the board. This is your last chance to get this right.

This has made our league a **** show this season. with 16 players in multiple states we use the message board to communicate. Worst decision I have ever seen with yahoo fantasy sports.

At least the private leagues message boards should be active. They are the way we do monthly awards throughout the season and we can do assessments on our teams. I am fine with the text, but not everyone has the time or know how to look in a completely different spot for the information that has been in the same area for the last many years.

Why wouldnt u wait to take out message boards when the new chat features were available? Ridiculous planning and thinking. Makes no sense. You nudered your own site.

Please add back message boards... Comms via email stink, comms via chat is brutal, comms via off-site forums stink... The message board is by far the most elegant for this kind of thing. Please bring it back next year.

The message board is critical for keeping the entire league aware of changes. Nobody uses the chat functions and likely will not, even if improved. If people know each other in a league they will text instead. Of course that makes extra work for a commissioner, especially getting everything setup pre-draft. We used to have Keepers and pre-draft trades posted on the Message Board for better visibility. During the season the league can veto a trade, but preseason this allowed for transparency. The only way to recreate this now is a string of annoying league texts being sent back and forth all the time.
If it is a public league where people do not know each other, simple things like a kind word or kicking off the season with a good luck to everyone for good sportsmanship is eliminated as well.
I really do not understand why this would be eliminated after all this time. I almost moved my league to another host company despite this being the league's 20th anniversary... it made the league I serve as the commissioner a lot more time intensive by causing me to repeat answers to questions for my two new team owners that I could have housed on the message board that they could reference later.
Can someone revisit bringing it back this year, please? It seems there is more than a small response to the change... Voice of the Customer... Net Promoter System... anybody out there?

Yahoo has made absolutely horrendous decisions, it's kind of the brand now. This, however, is maybe the worst. Fantasy sports was the only saving grace for this leftist site, way to ruin it and push away more users.

Message boards are the best way to do league-wide chat. Please bring them back!

Can you make commissioner notes accessible in the Yahoo phone app?
