[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Can Fantasy Chat be accessed via desktop? The desktop site and mobile platform being so different is frustrating. With the message boards removed it seems there's no way for the league to communicate on desktop. It's also frustrating that Yahoo has forced everyone to use Chat before completing various planned upgrades.

Just another note: The Chat doesn't work when you are arranging a new league and still haven't drafted. I have no way to communicate with players who don't check yes to emails on their team settings. Many change it to no or use a remote email they don't use often.
And literally no players ever see the Commissioner Note. It's not available on the mobile app which most players use and is not readily visible when using a browser whether on a computer or a smartphone browser.I regret ever allowing email notifications for this "idea" as my personal email account has overflowed with complaints about you not having message boards this season. You implied changes were coming and_or this is not permanent. I pray for this to be true for the health of Yahoo Fantasy and for my email account.
Sincerely,

Move to FANTRAX.
Stop ******* your head against the wall that is Yahoo. FANTRAX is free and has a great Message Board and threaded chat app and tons more stuff Yahoo doesn't have.
And FANTRAX has an excellent Help service that listens to you and actually "helps" you and they want your suggestions as well. It is the leader in fantasy sports platforms now because that is all it does and they take pride in what they do.

Confirming once more: terrible idea to remove the message board. Our team had to create a Facebook group to do what was once easy and convenient with Yahoo.

This was a horrible surprise! Used the message board for most communications and to spread the word about joining other leagues. Would have rather lost chat than the message board. Best communications were message board and email.

So, why are we removing message boards?? Makes absolutely no sense. The message board is why we caught a cheater in our fantasy football league this year, and we all got our money back. It's also one of the fastest ways to communicate. Email the league?!? Wow. Great thinking!! I might as well just write an actual letter, go to the post office, get a stamp on it, and send it on its way. How about banning accounts that try and scam people out of their money instead? I guess by removing the message board, it means everyone can no longer communicate, which probably earns more money for yahoo. That'll backfire when so many users leave yahoo for all these other sites that are better and keep up with the times. You might wanna demote whoever came up with this idea, becaue it's the opposite of great.

Because of this inexplicable decision, after 22 years on Yahoo, my league voted 10-0 to move to Fantrax.
Fantrax:
- Is free
- Has Message Boards
- Was easy for everyone to sign up
- Has Shohei Ohtani as one SP/DH eligible player
- Has many other features that aren't available on Yahoo
- Fantasy sports is Fantrax's entire business, so it's their top priority, unlike for YahooWe would have stayed on Yahoo for 2023 if Message Boards had been reinstated --- but now that we've moved to Fantrax, we are very glad that we did.

Message boards were the best part of this app. Removing them is a **** shame.
Here’s a little parenting advice: never give something to your baby that you plan on taking away unless you want a very unhappy baby.
The same goes for services. Don’t give your customers features just to take them away unless you want very unhappy customers. Not gonna sell much Fantasy Plus that way.

This is very unfortunate. We use Message Board to allow teams to post there keepers so I can refer back to it the following year to designate for the new draft, I post updates for year over year dynasty league info over the course of several years in time, teams document trades that include draft picks for next year’s draft, document max keeper limits, GM concerns, and general organization communication.
Yahoo Fantasy Sports has always been the leaders in Fantasy Game play and usability with little confusion since online fantasy sports begun. I have been a commissioner for multiple sports/leagues for over 20 years and removing an essential tool that helps organize and aid in year over year game-play is troubling… especially since I received no word of this upcoming change and was not asked for input prior to a forced experience change. You are NOT valuing the pulse of your users when making changes to something your users are used to having in their tool box.

Message boards are critical gathering input and communicating necessary information about the ongoing nature of a sport, and competition in a league. This was never more critical than during COVID and it's aftermath, as the "normal" functioning of the sport on which the fantasy game was based ceased to exist. Additionally, many league members choose not to get email messages, and will receive no communication when message boards are not available.
Perhaps Yahoo does not care, but fantasy leagues run by commissioners usually have memberships that spend more time with their teams (and on the Yahoo site), and taking away a vital tool that a commissioner and those league members depend on will have the longer-term effect of moving those commissioner and active users to other platforms.
This was a dumb move by Yahoo, even if it is only temporary. Users that turn away from Yahoo during baseball season will not come back.

Very critical. Not being able to share messages with the whole league sucks. Our league has awesome and fun conversations every year. The league page is where everyone goes first every day to check for league chat. Why get rid of it? Stupid! Now what? I have to go to email league to post a message? And if I need to go back and check the message to see exactly what was said I'll have to keep going back and sift through all the emails titled Yahoo to find the exact message someone posted? Ridiculous! Some leagues actually play to socialize and have fun with friends and family that you don't get to see on a regular basis. The message board is a big deal for such leagues. Please bring it back. Thanks

Yahoo Fantasy Baseball sucks without message boards. I will start looking elsewhere. I wonder what some ******* suit position at yahoo made that decision and why!
Sounds like Yahoo execs are part of the WOKE generation. Afraid someones feelings are gonna get hurt.

I serious can't believe yahoo is taking message boards away. Why the **** would you do that and hinder league communication between people?? Makes absolutely no sense, especially when some people don't use the app and do have access to the chat via their computer.

The message boards are the lifeblood of dynasty and keeper leagues. Without the message boards, you are forcing people to use the garbage chat function which is not tied to the individual league or use other apps and platforms. This is going to force a lot of leagues to leave yahoo for other sites.
