[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

this is what you get from big Tech and corporate America in 2023 (and forever else)
1)we are in the driver seat deal with it. **** straight I guess
2)we are constantly changing and adapting to serve our users/customers. really? ha
3)we are betting on a horse and that horse is young, impressionable and controllable. that horse is our finical future.
4)we don't care about middle age or older people. you are not as reachable for advertising. you are not as tech savvy or inclined. you are not our desired demo any longer. -

Allow sharing content to chat from share options on phone, just like sharing to messaging apps....currently I have to save an image first and then find it in chat under image tab...annoying

hi-long time Yahoo user including Fantasy Sports. I am quite the champion for Yahoo fantasy sports and do my best to tout it's virtues. I am a very long time and uncommonly serious fantasy sports participant. across many platforms and sites. I 'm utterly disappointed with the decision on message boards. it is a staple of my and others in my league for chatting but more importantly for league vital communications. to run a successful league like I have for a long tenure. upfront and timely full transparency communications have to be made. now that is virtually gone. leaving email or the fantasy app which both are imperfect for these purposes.
besides the fact that you are pushing the fantasy app and not all people will use it or understand it etc. I have a lot of older people who will not want or cannot adapt to this change. for me this is just another dagger in the old vs. new war going on. with yahoo and the like choosing technology and the young generation for bottom e purposes. your betting on the youth to be your future profit not old people. its called progress but is it really? at this point I doubt I will leave Yahoo with all that I have invested into it time and effort wise. but if I get complete mutinies from my membership body I may have to. I understand that whomever reads this from Yahoo. it is not your fault it is a symptom and a a tiny microcosm. of a sad world view by big tech and corporate america. that (in with the new and out with the old) is survival and progress and profit margin. meanwhile I am sure the backbone of Yahoo and Yahoo fantasy sports has always skewed to being older people. ESPN is for kids and Yahoo IMO was a haven for the mature serious minded fantasy participant. well nothing lasts forever take care

almost all of my managers used the message boards, it's a **** of a lot easier than email, and Chat is cluttered with transactions. bring back the message boards.

We post information on the league, setting changes, prize money, **** talking, polls, all kinds of stuff on the message board. Why on earth take this away??

When it ain't broke, don't fix it. The message boards are the only way to communicate with the league as a group. Without them, the game truly is diminished and becomes faceless.

Where can the chat be found in the web browser version of the league pages? Is that only available in the mobile version? I just found it there, but no one in our league had used in in years.
We need to have some league discussions before the season starts...

Does anyone know if there's a way to turn off seeing people's transactions in the chat? As a commissioner of a busy/active league, I don't want to sift through seeing so many moves just to read people's messages. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated... tysm.

Message boards were used to run the league - post link to rules doc, post keepers, conduct offline draft, trade prospects (since Yahoo doesn't have a way to organize farm/minor league rosters), increase engagement with league members (talk about baseball and sports), etc, etc.
Chat is useless and transitory. We need message boards back or something that adequately replaces them. Without, I would bet that my leagues will either move or end within the next few seasons. Please fix ASAP! -

I always used the message boards to discuss trades, and remind about the trade deadline, as well as discussing rules changes.

When can we expect to see the new chat format?
That may help us knowing how it will replace the message board which was paramount to operating a fantasy league.
Someone from Yahoo please post an update. -

Chat is horrible and I doubt it will improve enough to make it useful. I run multiple leagues across different sports, I don't want 100s of notifications daily because a bunch of stuff is being talked about in the chat. Bring back the message boards and while your at it bring back the "smack talk" feature from years ago. Have not enjoyed fantasy nearly as much since that feature was removed, trash talk and general league interaction has already went down since matchup specific smack talk was replaced with the chat. Now you're taking message boards too?

This is a terrible idea. We post our keeper selections, draft results, etc. on the message board. Yahoo chat sucks. If the message board does not return, this will be our last year on Yahoo (after nearly 25 years).

In the mock drafts there are multiple batters without batting averages mostly rookies and second year players. Its messing up the draft grades if you select them. Please place a correct estimate on them

So far, I have counted 27,612 "BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARD" postings, and ZERO "Boy, not having the message boards is a great change" postings. Does anyone at Yahoo even read this feedback? If Yahoo intends to ignore the UNANIMOUS outcry from its users, Yahoo should just forget the "Yahoo wants your feedback" farce, and tell its users "GO FIND ANOTHER FBB PROVIDER, BECAUSE WE HERE AT YAHOO REALLY DON'T GIVE A F%#$ ABOUT OUR USERS"

I would recommend putting league message on the phone app. It's not visible on the phone app.

Last year they got rid of the match-up ratings. This year it's the message boards, what will be next year? Please respond by returning our message boards. Or at least address this issue!!!!

Unbelievable that we are already watching spring training games and Yahoo has no official response to all these complaints, it's like the admin in charge of reading and solving problems here, "the yahoo user voice", was one of the many laid off employees in the lastest Yahoo's downsizing.
There are not more ways to explain Yahoo's current inaction on this sensitive issue.

No one in any league uses the chat it's terrible. Message boards were the best at posting weekly recaps and posting rules and other important info people needed readily available. Why remove it?!

Chat is terrible for league-wide communication. Message boards were perfect for this. What an unforced error by Yahoo. Our league, which is in its 19th season on Yahoo, has voted to change platforms if this is still the case next season.
