[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Awful decision. It speaks to how out of touch Yahoo Sports is. I can assure you the dynasty leagues I am in are already looking at our options.

We have had our league going for more than 20 years now, and the boards on the league page is our primary means of communication. Email is no good because you cannot reply to a Yahoo league sent email. Hopefully this is a feature that will be returned in the future, as it's crippling to not be able to have everyone be able to discuss in a forum items such as draft time, league business, and simple banter.

Frustrating part about this is there is absolutely no feedback from Yahoo on this. Pages and pages of objections but no real sense that they're listening or will do anything other than continue to do what they're planning to do (which they haven't shared other)

Message boards are literally the only way we use to communicate in our league....way to drive business to rival sites.

It would have been nice to put the message letting us know there are no message boards this year BEFORE giving me the option to access the non-existent message boards, then letting me write a very long intro message that disappears when you hit send.

Don’t like this change.

@Will Dickerson -- most people are moving over to Fantrax. Fleaflicker looks promising, but I haven't tried it. ESPN looks hopelessly simplistic for my needs (fine on football, I think, but like Yahoo they couldn't care less about baseball it seems). CBSSports seems like a good platform, but I haven't used it, and it costs money to have a league with any complexity at all.

WTF? Are you trying to drive people to other fantasy sites? If so GREATJOB!!!!

Losing the message board is a critical loss. What are you thinking? Oh, of course. You are not thinking.

Message boards are the main way for us to communicate. The chat is clunky and tough to tell any updates. Literally EVERY OTHER LEAGUE offers a message board. Looking to start up a dynasty league for fantasy baseball, will change formats if need be. All members are upset about the loss of the message board. We're trying to communicate via group chat, which is what is much more effective than your chat feature.

Our league that has a history dating back to 2001 is considering switching platforms over this. Yahoo says they will add threading and pinning to fantasy chat, but will that give us the ability to organize things into neat topical threads like the message board, or are we going to have to scroll up for 30 minutes to find a message from the beginning of the season?
Yahoo should have (at least) left message boards in for this season and run it alongside chat until chat is complete. But as of now, we don't know what we are getting and we only know what we're losing.

Yahoo. You suck. Bring back the message boards.

There are still many original fantasy players that are NOT comfortable with using phones for league activities. On a computer, you get more functionality, much larger screens, and a much more convenient drafting experience. Long-time Yahoo users like me are not happy, being forced to use a stupid phone for everything. BRING BACK THE CHATS!!

Where else can I host my keeper leagues? ESPN?
-
Will Dickeson commented
Can you please bring it back so I can run my keeper league selections and drafts?

Will Dickeson commented
This is a serious flaw in your system!

What are you guys thinking? There are leagues for over 20 years that will have to leave cause of this. Offline drafts. This is what we use. Come on guys. This is a horrible idea that is going to lose you a lot of people. I can't believe it, this feature is so widely used in all of our leagues. This is horrible. This is the worst idea I can think of you doing. I think you may have had a committee to see how we can lose loyal clients.

No one in our league uses chat and the message boards are good for maintaining conversations that need to be referenced later.

This was probably the worst idea that Yahoo has ever had in their fantasy leagues. I'm not sure who or why it was thought that it would be a good idea to remove a message board from the league. This was a great way for teams to communicate to each other, especially for leagues who have teams that don't check emails as often as they check their league page. HORRIBLE MOVE.

It was nice having a centralized location where all league messages were and you could see the new ones posted with a chat I'm sure owners including myself will miss league wide messages that get buried in the chat. I alos hate that the chat is only available on phones. I use my laptop to conduct the vast majority of my fantasy transactions. because I like having a big screen to see things now I'm going to have to have my phone out to check on league news and quint real hard so I can read it This is dumb.
