[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I have been using Yahoo Fantasy sports since 2002. As a Commissioner, and also a public and private leagues player, I find it essential to use the posts. As commisioner, I keep in contact with my league. It makes it a lot easier if a manager or myself has a question or suggestion. The posts are able to keep a running commentary, rather than cut-and-paste onto a new e-mail. I also run a number of polls throughout the year, and have a very good return rate. Another necessary part of the posts is the trash talking. As commissioner, I don't allow any swearing. If anybody does, they are blocked from further use of the posts.
In deleting the Posts, Yahoo is making it extremely difficult to keep in contact.
If Yahoo does not restore the posts, I and most of my fellow "Fantasy players" will probably leave Yahoo and go to a new site.
BRING BACK THE POSTS !!!!!
ps: I just did a bit of research. Yesterday, 21 Feb., there were 26 comments posted against this change. Just wonder how many there have been so far. Yahoo NEEDS to listen to their users. -

This is a stupid idea, how are we supposed to communicate with our league. I'm in a longtime league, with a number of senior players, all over the country and i don't know them personally. The message board was the main form of communication in our league.

Bad decision - I've been running Fantasy baseball for a number of years on Yahoo! and the message board is very useful in terms of communication between the commish's and new updates.
We do voting on any changes pre-season and teams will post when players are available, and can have replies etc.
Doing this over email is going backwards IMO if this is the only way to communicate to teams. -

I am not sure if anyone is monitoring this feedback, but again, I think this is a bad idea. The notice tells us that we can communicate through Fantasy Chat and yet, I can not find any link to such a system. If you are going to change a major portion of the game, you should at least make it easy to find the new system.

*** ATTENTION YAHOO IDIOTS.....ATTENTION *** are you guys even reading this thread?! do you care at all that 99% of your C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R-S are ****** off with the decision to remove the message board?! most everyone here is a commissioner representing anywhere from 9-19 additional league members......do the math for total number of real members that are not happy. im sure you think a lot of the talk here is bluster but i can assure you that i WILL be removing my leagues from here and going to another platform. BANK ON IT!!!

What an awful decision. The message board is what holds the league together. It's used for rules, keepers, trades, etc etc....It's one of the most important piece of the puzzle. Bring back the board we've all used for 20 year's!

people deserve to get fired over this decision, and the parent company deserves to get sued.

The problem with the removing message boards is the commissioner note is not even available on the app (for the iPhone at least). A lot of leagues use the board for a variety of things, mostly for keeper and dynasty. No one wants keeper rules, etc. "pinned" in the already lacking chat.
At the very least, the commissioner note should be easily viewable on the app but I also want to don't want to get a cluster of new "chat" alerts on my phone with add/drops, chats and trying to filter through the garbage to find something.

this is absolutely bs... especially with COVID this social interaction is all we get and makes playing any fantasy games interesting... will have to seriously consider whether to continue with yahoo or go back to CBS sportsline

We used the message board to post the constitution, vote on rules changes, and confirm trades. It was the only place where we could guarantee everyone would look or at least have a chance to see something.
No one uses yahoo chat. It's not functional for an ongoing conversation because the transaction log breaks the flow of conversation, you can't thread to keep topics in one area, and we can't keep track of voting.
Yahoo keeps changing/taking away features and making the site worse. The only reason we're still here is that every other platform is somehow worse.

This is how we have communicated in dozens of my leagues for almost two decades. The app is buggy, disorganized, and is likely going to force us to move leagues to other sites.

in my leagues, nearly all of our communication was via the message boards. the chat works if you are on your phone, but it also contains a transaction thread that you need to scroll through to find actual messages. And if you are on the laptop, then you can't even access the chat at all. So, in sum, I'd argue for returning the message boards as a comms tool.

The message board is a lynch pin feature for year-round leagues such as dynasty, especially where many managers do not use the mobile app. Message boards are a simple feature with great functionality for having clear and distinct discussions for the league that remain easy to look back on. Commissioner Notes are rarely used as they could be made into a message board post which actually allows responses from the league. I know multiple people who are already considering changing to superior fantasy apps for dynasty and keeper leagues and believe this will push more people away from Yahoo. What is your benefit from removing this feature? Can't figure it out...

I HATE that you are removing the message boards from the league home page. I mean, I really HATE it! That is by far the best way to communicate with the league. This feature alone might make me move my yahoo leagues to a different site. You no longer have a slow live draft as an option, so that almost pushed us to a different site, now this? Just really disappointed.

I'm not sure what the issue is. This is my 15th year playing Yahoo Fantasy Baseball, and I can't ever recall seeing a league message that was out of line. The chat going away for mock drafts makes sense - there's anonymity there, and I've seen some ugly messages during mock drafts. In a league, you're going to be dealing with these people for six months, so it makes sense to be at least somewhat respectful. I've even seem some messages where someone had a personal problem and had to drop out for a time generate sympathetic responses.

I still can't get in touch with many members of my dynasty keeper league. This is a disaster. You need to restore this functionality ASAP for many of the leagues that use your boards to function. I have a nearly 20 year old league that may have to fold because you took away the only functioning communicatyion tool we use.

The message board is a necessary component in daily keeper leagues. Because of this decision many fantasy followers are going to leave Yahoo and move to other sites.
