[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

please check league 24069. The draft was nothing but a cheat. I believe a few people drafted more than 1 team. There's no way one team could have so many top 50 players on his team. There was also a very unfair trade. Please look into this League. Milford Mustangs is one of the cheaters. I thought this was suppose to be a fun league.

I thoroughly enjoy users like Daniel Grossman:
"I'm glad the message board is gone. Most of the time, people just use it to say rude, nasty things to each other. We're all better off without it, because some of us can't behave like decent people."
So because you personally have a problem with something, it should be outlawed for everyone? Very Baptist of you! You're viewpoint is myopic on so many levels that I feel like Mitt Romney telling George Santos "You don't belong here." -

Welcome Fellow Commissioners! Welcome to your last Yahoo! Fantasy Message Board.
Seriously though, Yahoo! is gambling with ad revenue here and it's just stupid. As a commissioner of 15 years with my current Points Only league here, I can only shake my head and try to quantify just how much ad revenue will be lost per manager once I take my daily Points League elsewhere. That and grumble over the fact that moving my league means having to sacrifice our league history. Gee thanks!

That stupid chat thing doesn't even work now, I just get the spinning circle thing. This is so stupid. Why did you get rid of the message boards, and why aren't they restored yet? Also, why can't I see last year's stats in the mock drafts? I couldn't give a runny **** about your projections. I'm exploring my options, but it looks like I'm probably stuck with Yahoo for this year, so get your **** together. Idiots.

The message board is especially critical for keeper and dynasty leagues, but it also adds to the overall enjoyment of the game. Yahoo has been my preferred fantasy choice for nearly 20 years, but I am now exploring other sites. I see the decision to remove the message boards as your way of slowly fazing out private custom leagues. And if that is, in fact, the goal, why just announce it now so everyone can make the appropriate plans to find alternative sites?

Some of my leagues are "Trader" leagues,,,you get to protect 5 players in a week. If you lose, your opponent can take one of your unprotected players by trade each week.
We use the message board extensively for posting protected players etc.
You've already taken the Main message board away...which was a great way to recruit new managers, why do you need to take league boards as well?
I also don't see "Fantasy chat" available on my laptop...not everyone uses cell phones for this -

Are you crazy? We rely on this form of communication. We use to post Do not draft info that corresponds with our minor leagues. We use it to gauge trade interest, we use it to see weekly transactions…. We use it for a weekly update from the commish which is different than commish note.
Please bring this feature back. I’m a commish and I have no idea how I will communicate. Chat? Not
Everyone os online all the time. A post helps accountability. 20th year of our league on yahoo. Disappointed -

Removing the message boards is an absolutely braindead move. Going forward you "will be adding" stuff like chat threading? Well don't remove the message boards BEFORE you have a viable alternative already live with user feedback. Unbelievable. Please fire whoever made this decision

HATE the idea. Can't access CHAT it keeps circling to load. If you were going to change you should have done it in offseason not when leagues were starting up.

Tried to use the chat. Was able to post a message on my android app (no threads - mixed in with the adds/drops) BUT I cannot find the chat function on my CPU at all... I would ask for feedback here but I see that THIS chat site is useless as well and does not allow for threaded replies. Shake your head Yahoo. This is a bad business move. Surely you see that. Don't be stubborn. I have not seen a single positive reply. Post a note saying, "Due to overwhelming feedback indicating the many inventive and important ways that the message boards are being used by leagues, we have decided to reinstate league message boards. Have a great season. PLAY BALL!" (PS:Can you also reestablish the league polling function? - wishful thinking? It was useful for asking for quick feedback about rule changes, even if it was not used often. You already have the code. Shouldn't cost you any money.)

another day, another flood of negative comments about removing the message board and another day that yahoo does NOTHING. if you morons actually "valued" our thoughts, the message board would have been restored WEEKS ago.

To Daniel Grossman's point a few comments below - I agree that the Message Board in a Public League is not necessary and could be a source of rude comments. However, in a Private League - particularly a Keeper League, the Message Boards are vital for all the reasons stated below. One additional note - replacing a Message Board with the League Chat is not going to reduce rude comments - just going to move the location of them. At least in a Private League, the Commissioner has the ability to censor an owner who habitually abuses the Message Board - and as Commissioner I have (admittedly rarely). The Chat Feature has no such oversight.
One other note, in responding to Daniel's comment below, I had to direct people to look for the original comment. That is because the discussion here is basically a Chat Box. If this were a true Message Board, I could have replied directly to Daniel. Keeper League owners typically have the reason to do the same thing - respond to one particular thread among many.

I am having problems using the fantasy chat for our league on the computer, but it does work on the app.

I am a little concerned about the ability of Fantrax to handle the influx of business from Yahoo. My one draft there last year was a little clunky with a lot of outages. Hoping they've geared up with needed server capacity.

I'm going to give fleaflicker a try too, in addition to Fantrax, though I never heard about it until this message board. Hoping Yahoo keeps this "feedback" section open so we can swap notes about moving leagues. I may post some new league invites here too.

My league needs the message board to communicate key status. We post weekly winners, keeper contract status, league info/rules not covered by yahoo, $$ totals yahoo dues cant execute, etc. Please bring the board back asap! This is critical to league execution!
