[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

If you're not going to bring back the message board, then why ask for feedback?
-
Brandon S commented
Why the **** would you get rid of this when the chat box is still useless?
-
Scott Hojnacki commented
No seriously?, when are the message boards coming back? Make the announcement.!

I am sitting at my computer accessing my league page and reviewing all the TABS and links.
I cannot find the link to open the Chat line for my league - where is it Yahoo?
When you replace something you link to it. Correct?
If you cannot figure out how to link to it, then you don't delete the working communication tools that are already there.
Yahoo Groups were a useful tool.
My Yahoo Group is now on Groups.io.
Wonder where my Yahoo leagues are going to wind up???

To jim acosta below who said: "Because of my poor vision I was a big fan of the dark mode on league pages."
FANTRAX offers both two light modes and two dark modes options in the free leagues. Set what suits your vision best.
Also FANTRAX has a good MESSAGE BOARD and a chat that is far FAR superior to Yahoo's. (You can view it in full screen option on laptops, multiple customized threads too if you want). Also their email works fine as opposed to Yahoo's "Sports" email where 3/4 of all replies to something sent via Yahoo Sports Email never get through EVER.
Again, FANTRAX is totally free to use and has already taken in countless Yahoo refugee leagues fleeing the insanity and arrogance of Yahoo here. Our 3 dynasty leagues moved there in a day's time and so glad we did. You don't have to hang around here and hit your head against the wall anymore. Just MOVE. It is super easy.

yeah, we're actively looking for another fantasy home. While adding chat is fine, deleting message boards are not. If you want to not archive the message boards year-over-year fine, but no message board will cause us and I suspect millions of other eyeballs to leave. CBS has both chat and message boards - which are useful in leagues that vote on things or have prop bets or just like to talk smack. Chat is only good in real time. Message boards are good for our real like schedules as we can come back easier and see what's in a topic. Don't remove message boards. If you do, it'll cost Yahoo/Verizon money.

our league is spread all over the country we used the message to communicate over time, not to chat real time. since you auto renew all managers when the league is renewed I have no idea who is in or not. We need something or we may have to look else where. Give me some options please.

Chat is horrendous. Don’t check it for months at a time. Important messages to the Message Board would trigger an email which I read. Bring back message boards.

Bring back the league message board. Message boards serve a critical role in fantasy leagues, particularly my fantasy baseball keeper league, as the most sensible and easily accessible forum for exchanging information and preserving information for posterity. I am already wasting valuable time figuring out how to communicate important league/keeper information without a message board. Getting rid of league message boards is an unbelievably foolish decision. We have used Yahoo for fantasy baseball since 2004, but are exploring other fantasy sites today because of this asinine decision.

Horrible decision. Too bad, been here for nearly 2 decades. I am moving my league elsewhere.

hello, I drafted a team last night and I believe someone may have drafted at least 4 teams. It looks like they made 2 very bad teams and 2 great teams. this is suppose to be just for fun. why cheat. The teams I think that were made by the same person are moobys Peerless team and Milfords Mustangs, Patricks Pleasant Team and ron guscotts swell team. Could please check into this. please take me out of this league.

Bring back the league message board. This was a simple and useful tool. My league depends upon it for public record of voting on trade vetos.

It was important for communicating with managers who choose to not be a part of the chat room and numerous other reasons. I wish Yahoo would give leagues and users a choice in all future changes. Stop going backwards by continuing to remove things we got use to and allow us to choose whats best for us. Because of my poor vision I was a big fan of the dark mode on league pages. The white is very ******* allot of users eyes. Please consider bringing back the dark mode!

You guys should be embarrassed about how you've handled the message board.

The Keeper league I’m in has been going on since 2004. We use the Message Board for a slow drafts because people either live in different time zones or work different shifts. If this function is removed we will probably have to do the same. It will suck because we love Yahoo for fantasy baseball, but we will do what’s best for our league. Please reconsider.

Stupidest administrative decision Yahoo has made in a while. Doing away with the message boards blindly to the users prior to informing everyone is about as asinine as white collars get.

When will the alleged improvements to the chat take place?
-

Haven't figured out how to make chat notify you when there's a message. I'd rather not communicate with everyone via email. If there are indeed improvements on 'chat" coming soon, you should have kept the message boards active until it was ready. And these "improvements" better be good. Message boards are a key way to communicate, especially during the crucial weeks before our drafts.

We now know that the people at Yahoo could careless to what their customers are asking of them. In the meantime I see where Yahoo is laying off 20% of their work force, those numbers will continue to rise if they keep making decisions like this!

I'm now spending all that time I would be mock-drafting and clicking on your website instead scouting other websites.
Great business model you got there.
