[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I think I'm reluctant to dump on Yahoo because I have no knowledge of costs involved in offering not only free message boards (there are no ads on that page) but also email notifications (again, zero ads). I hate it when people complain about ATM fees (the machines and maintenance cost the provider money) and I didn't feel like a jerk for snapping at students when they used debit or credit cards to purchase something from the candy rack in the College Bookstore (due to the store being charged a swipe fee). So, my point is, BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARD and email alerts and we'll tolerate whatever advertising is included. Problem solved. Happy users and profitable platform!! Am I wrong?

Oops! I meant to ask Oceans 45, since I didn't want to snoop around in someone else's league, does Fantrax offer a PLATE APPEARANCE stat category like Yahoo? I always ask ESPN Support to add that option well before each season's rollout to no avail. Maybe I'm overthinking this but shouldn't we reward players for each PA and "charge" them for each AB?
Also, unlike Yahoo which always emails me with "Heads up. So and so has joined your league", I only learn of new members at ESPN and Fantrax by bringing up the home page. It seems rude to not immediately welcome those who join.
Between notifications, roster positions and scoring options it's difficult to even figure which platform is my favorite. I really hope Yahoo reverses course because it seems to be the most popular historically. -

The arrogance Yahoo is showing by not addressing this critical issue and our concerns. I, as a commish, am already encountering huge issues in trying to correspond with league managers as far as confirming what managers are returning and discussions about changing league categories and stats and other issues which we readily discussed within the Message Board at the end of last season. That option is no longer available by Yahoo's inexcusable, horrible decision. As one commenter posted earlier, if Yahoo doesn't want to run their leagues in a professional manner they should totally get out of the fantasy business. Yahoo "use" to be fun and easily accessible to all with the Message Board and highly recommendable. That is no longer the case as I would not recommend Yahoo, for any purposes, to anyone considering joining the site. Yahoo is definitely down-trending--BIG TIME!!

Apologies to Oceans 45. I clicked your link assuming it was the standard invitation link rather than an automatic join link so I had to drop out but wish you luck.
Now here's my attempt at humor for the day: Without a message board, how will we be able to touch base? -

I am commissioner of multiple yahoo fantasy leagues, one being baseball. How am I supposed to communicate with the managers? This is a big miss and making me want to quit yahoo fantasy all together.

A few openings in our now closed Yahoo league that moved to Fantrax.
-Complete Dynasty
-Minor League 10 Slot Farm
-Inaugural Brand New Draft since we have moved and lost some people due to Yahoo's neglect and ignorance of running a Fantasy Platform.
I have been commissioning leagues for 20 years now. Very open and encourage suggestions feedback from managers to make our leagues better. Come try it out if you want in on a brand new dynasty league.https://www.fantrax.com/newui/fantasy/joinLeague.go?leagueId=rwr4geuvldkgm0f2

Message Boards are pretty much the entire thread that holds all of our managers together. We email a couple times in the offseason, but once the league opens up everything (from new rules discussions, to offline prospect drafting for our "minors", to trades and their review/discussion happens on the message boards. Some message threads last weeks to resolve, others are single posts. I suppose if the Chat feature were available on the desktop version we could try it out and see how well everyone is able to keep separate threads/topics from blending into each other, but I'm very skeptical that would be any sort of solution for replacing the message board and it's power to organize commentary. I think it's an absolute must that the message board be brought back.

We're very disappointed the message board is being taken away. It's an integral part of our league because we do a message board slow draft every year. We've done this for 15 seasons at least. I don't see that working well in the chat. I think without a message board we'll have to use a Google doc. Every other platform uses a message board, I'm not sure why this was thought to be a good idea.

What a terrible thing you did. I guess you don't care about desktop users. Really seems like a pointless and bad move. I bet our commish will be looking for a new venue for next season.

You dumb ***** that made this deplorable decision are truly moronic. Pull your head out if your ***! Pathetic! You clowns are getting scourged on this Message Board, and have been for weeks, YET you do not backtrack on this issue, and reimplement the Message Boards? Idiots! Repent of your despicable, ******** decision!

That is used in a couple of leagues I run. We have Dynasty leagues and allow predraft trading. The message board is used to track those trades

I don’t understand how you can claim Fantasy Chat is a replacement for message boards. It’s not even accessible from a desktop. Eliminating message boards makes it virtually impossible to run a league. This is a tremendously stupid move on Yahoo’s part.

messege boards are very very neccessary. if this is not an option people will start moving over to fantrax very soon.
bring back the boards this year

The idiots that made this decision do not play fantasy baseball. The message board is critical for running a league and keeping all members up to date on everything. Our league will be leaving and joining a different fantasy baseball web site. This is the most ridiculous decision.

The message board allowed us to voice concerns and interests in trades, suggestions for league improvements, announcing keepers, and friendly banter throughout the season. I can’t think of a more illogical move than to eliminate the platform for people to communicate within their league. This is just plain stupid.

I read an article today saying Yahoo eliminated over 1000 jobs, maybe the fella in charge of this thread has already left Yahoo and no one is reading our complaints lol
