9 years later and still no updates? Please implement this as soon as possible. Game changer for poolers.

If not this, then expand roster size so GMs can increase the amount of available NA slots.

You could have the farm team as a separate "tab" just like how you have the "Players" tab where managers add and drop free agent players except in this case the "farm team tab" would be where managers can call up/send-down their owned farm players!

My Keeper league of 10 years has been wanting to add a minor system (prospect pools). It would work fine if only players N/A status was kept accurately and efficient. Gabe Vilardi, a player who would definitely be chosen as a prospect to hold, was not listed as N/A status and the kid has yet to play an NHL game. Brandon's suggestion as just following NHL rookie rules would bring much more business to yahoo. The number of dynasty leagues are on the rise.

The solution to this is simple:
1. Give Commissioners the ability and option to implement more than 5 spots for minor league players (5-10-15-20 would be great) and give them a green flag or something of the sort rather than an 'NA' until they are not considered a rookie anymore. See NHL Definition of a rookie below. ("To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie.") - NHL.com.

Ya. I like it a lot. Would make drafting in keeper leagues a lot more interesting too. With the possibility of trading your future prospects you got lined up and not just draft picks would add a whole nuva level. I for one would look deeper into the young players coming up in the league.
Should follow NHL Rookie rules my vote but good option either way. -

This would work great

We need this badly in our league, online spreadsheet to track is garbage. Cheers.

Exactly, the number of games does not have to necessarily be 170. This number could be any number which is set by the commissioner at the start of the year.

I do like this idea make sense ,also you could make the # of games that would be selected by the comish or league vote.

I feel what would make yahoo different and even better would be to add a farm team option to each and every team. You could create a separate team or just special roster positions composing of any number of players, say 5. In order to qualify for these 5 team positions the player have to of played under a certain amount of games, say 170. Any player under 170 games could be dragged down to this special team but no player over 170 games could be placed on it. Just like in the NHL these players can be "called up" from your farm roster and onto your actual line up if there is a roster spot for them. Each and every team would be able to make as many of these "internal" moves. This would add a great keeper component as rebuilding or struggling teams would be able keep their future young prospects on a separate roster.
Ive played in many great H2H leagues that possess these roookie/keeper options but no online formate allows for any easy to navigate and functional program. I feel that this could easily make Yahoo one of the premier fantasy sports providers.
