Need more news about Korean listed companies
Dear Mr. Andy Serwer and Ms. Alex Wallace:
Hope this letter finds you well. My name is Chang Jae Yoo and I am a managing editor at The Korea Economic Daily Global Edition(www.kedglobal.com), a multi-language news site powered by The Korea Economic Daily.
The Korea Economic Daily (KED) is one of the largest and most trusted business and financial news companies in South Korea, which runs newspaper, cable TV channel, magazine, book publisher and more.
KED launched its global edition in October 2020 and since then has produced +20,000 articles about Korean companies (from conglomerates to startups), capital markets, macro economy, culture and trends in English. All of our English news editors are professional journalists with multi-year experience in global news outlets including WSJ, Reuters, BBC and PEI.
I am writing to suggest that Yahoo Finance includes KED as one of the content providers.
As a local newspaper, KED has five reporters who only cover Samsung, LG and SK Hynix and another five reporters who only cover Korea’s carmakers including Hyundai Motor Company. The speed and depth of the articles on those companies cannot be compared to international news gatherers.
Moreover, we have dedicated teams that cover Korea’s tech giants such as Coupang, NAVER and Kakao and game companies like KRAFTON, NCSoft, Smilegate and Netmarble. Korean music labels including HYBE (the label behind BTS), JYP (Black Pink), YG Entertainment (Twice) and film makers including CJ ENM (Parasite) are the companies we follow every day.
Although these companies are global enterprises that investors in the US and elsewhere should be interested in, I’ve found that there are few news articles about them on Yahoo Finance. For example, there is not a single article about HYBE under its stock information.
I think you can solve this issue when you have KED’s articles on your website. For your information, we’ve provided our articles in the Japanese language for Yahoo Japan since September 2021 and have attracted tremendous traffic (6.2 million PVs in November alone) from Japanese audiences.
Please kindly consider my suggestion and let me know your thoughts. Looking forward to your feedback soon.
Sincerely yours,
Chang Jae Yoo
Managing Editor,
