I like the "Unread" tab in the new layout. And it does seem a bit faster when doing certain operations in batch. But the old format was still superior from a user point of view. Reddit also has issues with the new UI, and I think they started to simplify the new one and allow for customization. That could be an option?
By the way, I work on Open Source software, and some tools use very old mailing lists. It's impossible for me to reply to some e-mails because of the rich text formatting. Changing to plain text doesn't work very well.

I HATE the new format, so ugly cluttered and unappealing. Why cant we keep the view that's simple to read and pleasing to the eye!!!

If I was not so lazy, would have switched over to g mail years ago as my primary vendor. Yahoo doesn't seem to understand that ad revenue requires users to see the ads..

OPTIONAL change? Great for those who like it.
FORCED change? Good for the programmers who... suck at their job. -

All categories. Stop screwing around with it (Email). This new format sucks! Just somebody wanting to make things look different just to say you did something.

Classic mail suited all my needs. The new one is PLUG UGLY. And I did a test of an email with an attached mp3 (I do voiceover) and it took a while to arrive. That is unacceptable, when I use this for my home business. Please bring back classic.

Who's bright idea was it to move date etc from the left hand side to the right hand side, why not keep it with all the other action tabs, in one area. The colours are too limited, the main viewing area, either too bright ( with a white background ), or the contrast of areas too boring. Did someone at yahoo need to come up with a idea to keep their job, whoever they were, SACK THEM. Please return me to the older screen.

Some marketing person had to come up with a new design too keep his/her salary ...... Horrible job, wonder if they figured they could get fired for doing a bad job. Not all have to change, not all change is good - your product support answer is a fine example of showing customer service really do not care about their customers.... "learn more about the lastest version... my a.. we do that using this ugly thing.... next time put it to a vote instead of headless implementing just to keep your jobs

" We continually strive to improve and upgrade our products to make them even more useful to our members"
The above statement is a load of bo**ocks. You are NOT making anything more useful to anyone. You are messing with something we have got used to and it works OK (most of the time), so why change it?
Have you just got a new batch of programmers in the office that just want to change things to make their mark?
I am going to be number 15994 on this one comment . It is about time you took some notice of what your users are telling you. Give us the old one back. -

This is NOT an improvement on the old version. Why must you keep fixing stuff that is not broken. At least give us the option to go back to better, older version, or allow to disable this new, ****** unwanted stuff.
