Classic mail is fine just the way it is. Why change it? The new mail is harder to read, and who cares about all the backgrounds and colors. I just want to read my email. Please leave me alone, and leave my classic mail alone.

Hey, Yahoo! What happened? You really messed up this time. Hoping you'll gather all comments from this forum to create meaningful metrics and implement needed changes to Yahoo Mail.
Yes, Yahoo Mail is free and we truly appreciate it. However, so is Gmail, Roundcube, etc. Please don't drive us to close our Yahoo Mail accounts due to a poorly-redesigned platform. You need to act fast, really fast.
Need help? Let me know.
Thank you!

keep the old look as i hate the new look it is not good for my eyes and it is to faded and i can not read any of the fonts . you need to keep this in mind that people who have had your accounts for a very long time have a hard time readjust to the new format that you have been experimenting with . as you may know i have had this account for over 10 years this been happening quite often so please stop this

Return the original e-mail format. You have accomplished nothing except
create extra work. Can't even expand to see all the data at once. Terrible-Terrible!!!!! -

I'm finally being forced to use the new version of mail. And I don't like the way it looks. At. All. Functionality, it's pretty much the same. But the layout... What's with all the wasted space? for example, too much gap at the top (archive, move, delete, spam section, then more gap/wasted space below that. same for new emails, there's just too much wasted space which makes the appearance look - off. start a new email, why is the subject line so spaced out? there's what, 2-3 extra lines of gap, then below that line across the page there is two spaces before you can start to type, it's inset on both sides so much that I could write notes all over the page (if I could write on my screen). then below where the send button is, again with all the extra gap spacing (top, bottom, and to the right). and why did you remove the quick access to changing font, colors, etc? What? not enough room? Now I have to click and click again to get to what I want to do. Same with the left column where inbox, unread, starred, etc. is, all that extra spacing between the categories. Why? It makes the list drop down all the way off the page where I have to scroll down to see my folders. And why am I forced to see "views"? that is also just a bunch of wasted space, looks like about 6 extra lines of space.
sure it works fine. and the spacing isn't too much different than Classic but somehow it looks too artsy instead of functional. I already miss the Classic layout. I'm even going to milk the last few days even though I'll be forced to change it on Jan 31.
the only thing I can figure is you got some designer on staff who is all into negative space and trying to be pretty instead of good function and form. they are wrong, it's wasted space. but it does make me think negative about it...

Having read 7 pages of comments (not all 16,000), I thank those who have put my complaint and dismay into words. I dutifully heeded Yahoo's warnings, at last, and switched from Internet Explorer to another browser (Firefox). To my dismay, my old background picture is gone and the new ones are indeed ugly. The stark white message list area hurts my eyes, while choosing white on dark is hard to read. I just cannot imagine what the developers were thinking!

Adding to the list of haters. the Delete email 'button' is in a stupid place at end of row. It can't even tell me how many emails are in my folders without hovering over. I've given it a go several times and hate it with a passion - and now you say we won't have a choice after 31/1/19. Old format so much clearer. And remove the ads especially the irritating flashing ones - I'm yet to have an ad that has any relevance or interest to me.

All the posts about the refine feature missing has been closed and therefore I couldn't vote for them. However, the feature is removed from the "upgrade" yahoo version but it was very helpful in the classic version. Now you've announced that the classic version is going away permanently on 1/31/2019. When upgrading please don't take away any features. Actually just upgrade current features and add new ones.

Don't like how few theme choices available in the new format. Very disappointing.

Why can't you leave things alone. We did not like it in 2017 and we still don't like it. Don't 1000s of negative opinions tell you anything?

The old format was far more readable! New one is hard to read and navigate through.

When you check the box (left of email) to delete an email, WHY do you have to go all the way to the right of center at the top to click "delete"?
Why can't the delete and other commands be located at the top LEFT so that you can go straight UP to click? This is not ergonomically correct. You have not put sufficient study into the ergonomics of navigation on your page. The Yahoo Classic was much better.(By the way, rather than constantly updating the way Mail "looks", your customers would be better served by you updating and fixing Yahoo Calendar, which has too many glitches to even mention here.)

I don't like the "view folders" - they are in the way of the folders I actually WANT to see. I close them, and the next time I get on to check my email, they are open again. Not happy!!! I don't know if I can stay... :(

I agree with OP, the new look is awful. Why on earth would you get rid of the majority of theme options, and what's with that awful "whitelist us" popup? It's not going to happen.
