User control of folders
I recently discovered more than 200 new, incoming emails had been automatically placed in folders that I did not create. One in particular is a folder named LinkedIn. Not only did I not create this folder, I double checked to ensure I had not linked any social accounts. So, if I didn't tell Yahoo where to put my incoming emails, why do they not go into my INBOX? In addition, I found more than 400 emails in the UNREAD folder...they NEVER were in my INBOX!!! What's the purpose of both? This cost me several missed communications and I never authorized Yahoo to waste my time in such a manner.
If SMART VIEWS can't be deleted, they should be allowed to be disabled and/or moved down the list. I want my list to be: INBOX, TRASH, SPAM, SENT, followed by the folders I create, and I want to decide which emails get put into those folders. Having to check multiple folders for new incoming messages in multiple folders is a total waste of my time.
If this doesn't change, I will be forced to leave Yahoo...I had considered paying for Pro, but since it too doesn't allow for user control, it will be a waste of money. I realize I am just one person and my absence will be of no importance to Yahoo…but it would be a shame for everyone to know that Yahoo views its customer base as insignificant dots on a map. I have had my Yahoo account since almost the beginning of Yahoo Mail and I think it sucks that I will have to go through the process of redirecting all my contacts, accounts, subscriptions and the like just because Yahoo thinks they know what the users want. It is apparent to me that I am not alone and that many Yahoo users are becoming increasingly aggravated and frustrated with all the changes and with not having any options to control their own accounts. It is 2019 - people are different, they have different uses for their accounts and with all the technology in the world today, it should be no issue for Yahoo to write a program that allows better user control.
Thank you in advance for reading this, I truly hope this issue is being considered.
