Why does Yahoo! think that its computer engineers/programmers/what have you, know more than their users? There are computer gurus and engineers out there who know more and better than the Yahoo! employees. I have taken the time to read most of the comments in various categories on the "new" Yahoo! contacts, and it seems that the Yahoo! workers have made a real mess of this. Yahoo! is not now considered the web-based electronic mail as premiere. Google has replaced it. With Verizon's purchase of Yahoo!, a condition was that Marissa Mayer leave (with her expensive severance pay). Why haven't more Yahoo! employees who are heads of units been fired? All criticisms of the "new" Yahoo! Contacts is valid. Again, why do these Y! employees think they know more than we do as to both what we want, what features are valid, and how they work? It's time for Verizon's C.E.O. to move in and let go dozens of Y! employees (who, incidentally, don't know what alphabetization is) who ruined the Contacts function. And Y!'s advertisers? Are they aware of the over-all dissatisfaction with Yahoo! E-mail? Advertisers should leave and/or insist upon a 40%+ discount of their fees. . . I recommend Google's web-based e-mail or Panix (for which you pay for e-mail, but you'll be very happy to do so!).

Not certain if this falls under Compose or Contacts.
Background - When creating a new email message, sometimes I type the first letter of the addressee and a droplist appears where I can quickly select the intended recipient rather than opening contacts.
Issue - This morning I noted that this procedure displays people that are NOT in my Contacts. This is problematic because it could be abused to send out erroneous emails, or, even worse, spam.

Why can't I see the new list of contacts when I click on To: when composing a new message. None of the changes that I make to the new contact list is being reflected in the groups that I already have setup. Please help! This is so very frustrating!

I can (& did) follow the instructions for adding a name to the new-style Contacts list on the right side of the screen. However, when trying to send a message to the list, that name doesn't appear on the pop-up list from the "to" or "Bcc" field (which thankfully is still in alphabetical order by last name). And yes, I restarted my computer after adding that name to my list. Why can't Yahoo sync information even within the same format? (In my case, a desktop computer) sgm

Yahoo mail has become very difficult to use. The lists feature are no longer usable. You have made it almost impossible to do group mailings, since the list features are no longer functional. You ask me to renew my Pro membership when you have made a system that once worked into nonfunctional chaos.

Your stupid 'new' format DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've deleted this contact ... is not in my lists .... not in the group that she was assigned to .... BUT THE EMAIL ADDRESS STILL IMPORTS WHEN I SEND AN EMAIL TO THAT GROUP!!!!!! PURE STUPIDITY!!!! GET BACK TO THE OLD FORMAT FOR CONTACTS THAT YOU CAN OPEN THEM IN A NEW TAB AND ORGANIZE AND MANAGE THEM MUCH EASIER!!!!!! *******!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.dropbox.com/s/9puiv0c792rr7gg/Screenshot%202019-08-24%2007.49.26.png?dl=0

Congratulations kids. You've made the executive committee happy by meeting an artificially imposed 'deadline' for product release. And failed your end users by pushing an incomplete & defective product.
Nice that you guys now open contacts frame at the right of the screen.
Very VERY bad that Contacts functionality is so badly attenuated that it's worthless.
For clarity sake, consider why a user might want to view, edit or add to a contact's record. People move. People switch phone numbers. People get secondary phones. People have more than 1 e-mail address. The list grows.
Consider New Yahoo's functionality: I have to search the entire listto find a contact, but by the name Yahoo farmed off their email address, not the name I'm accustomed to (e.g., Ty, rather than Tireneus). New Yahoo shows is the contact name and primary e-mail address. When I press the MORE ... icon, I get the 'choice' to remove the contact. No more detail is provided. Edit record is grayed out.
But but but....there's a list of e-mails!
Not what I'm looking for kids.

Hate the new contact list structure. Cannot sort, select all when emailing from a contact list, new contact adding is not intuitive. Worst thing Yahoo could have done!!

I found a solution. Having a recent export made just before degrade of yahoo contact, I could import all my contacts into Google contacts. Google Contact is awesome ! With the automatic forward on yahoo, I can work exclusively on gmail now.
I'm all set. Thank you.
Thank you -

Contacts are now Useless!
If your mission was to completely destroy the usefulness of Contacts, you have succeeded admirably! Most of us don't care how many e-mails or photos we've shared with a contact; most of us want to see what Lists that contact is on. Not only is this feature gone but Contacts are no longer alphabetized so to see if a Contact is on a List, you now need to tediously scroll looking for it. This is extremely time consuming and shouldn't be necessary. Lastly, I can't seem to find a button allowing me to print contact Lists. Did you take this away TOO???!!! Extremely frustrating when you keep "improving" things that weren't broken, didn't need fixing and worked just fine. -
