Somehow Yahoo! Finance took a swift, concise, and clean-looking site and cluttered it with useless **** everywhere. The holdings page is a monumental disaster, requiring many extra clicks to find the most basic of information. The dock is dumb and unnecessary; just put the market data back at the top from left to right. Speaking about from "left to right,' having to scroll down and pan left/right is a huge annoyance! Nothing redeeming about the reboot, and after years of using Yahoo!, I'm heading over to Seeking Alpha now.

i can no longer copy and paste to upload stocks. the page takes forever to load.
Do you actually have anyone who buys/sells stocks working on the Yahoo Finance? you should test the Yahoo Finance page first before releasing it to public. -

Bring back the old format. The new one is terrible, a downgrade in every way. The simplicity of the old view was best.

let the old system stand and add new features to the new system. lure people to choose to move over rather than remove them.

Obviously, they wouldn't have done this on purpose to **** people off. There are a number of reasons they did this. Most likely, the reason for the forced change to the new Finance pages was due to having some link to a legacy program or coding setup that was disappearing. I assume they started the development of this new scenario a number of years ago and though it wasn't ready for prime time, they had no choice as the previous versions were going to stop working anyway. The sinical me would suggest that higher ups had in their performance goals releasing of this new version in order to get a substantial bonus, regardless of the functionality, useability, or number of errors. Third, this is an attempt to gain users who use their phones to do **** near everything, and to those of us who still use PCs due to the sheer power and capabilities be damned. Fourth, the program coding for any of the portfolio pages provides some clues to everything (simply view the page source). It is rediculous how bad the design is. For every stock symbol, they load/link to a separate URL. next, they submit a database query individually for every single stock symbol. Efficient programming would have sent the list of symbols to the server housing the database, done everything there, and simply loaded the entire page back to the portfolio page. For example, if I have 30 stocks in my portfolio, it requires 60 communication steps (once there and once back - very time consuming) to link the symbols, next it requires 60 communication steps (once there and once back) to query the database for the individual stock symbols. I really didn't even have to look at the source code to suspect these were some of the issues. They obviously don't have experienced programmers running the show.

If you just wanted to make this so bad no one could use it so you could shut down this page, and close this portion of the business ... THAN JUST DO IT! This isn't a social engineering project ... from the comments I read on this clearly Yahoo-unreferenced page, people out there rely on these tools. Just step up, tell people you don't have the resources to sustain this part of the business, then give recommendations for alternatives and just LEAVE.

New yahoo finance is horrible and super slow! The old version was much fast loading, and better layout. Period.
