Colors/Themes
I did not like the gray background of read e-mails. The unread ones should be bold black as they were previously and the read ones should be on a white or lighter background. It is currently very confusing...

Please bring back the themes and color options that were available in the previous version of Yahoo mail. Light mode is too bright and dark mode is too drab and depressing.

Would be very nice if we could use lightly colored background (light blue with jelly fish) behind email like we had before changes.
Much easier to read than glaring white. -

Request for Theme Feature Restoration:
I noticed that the fun camping/skyscape background has been replaced with a plain white one. The simple black background option doesn’t seem much better, either. I used the different textiles (backgrounds) as a helpful tool to quickly identify which Yahoo account I was logged into, making it easier to toggle between them.
It would be great to have the option to either keep a fun background or opt for a more minimalistic one - something for those of us who enjoyed the themes, and an option for those who prefer a cleaner look.
Is this theme feature coming back anytime soon? Please say, Yes - I really miss it!
Thank you.

YOUR NEW VERSION IS LACKING ANY COLORS!!
I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT A BLAND WHITE PAGE OR A BLAND BLACK PAGE!!
I'D LIKE TO HAVE A CHOICE OF COLORS FOR MY EMAIL!! -

How about some other background choices besides white or black, boring. I need sun glasses for the white! How about a medium or soft gray.

I have tried the new basic mail and I like it. My only complaint still are the colors of black, white, and gray. Prefer the themes yahoo originally had. I liked the brown and orangeish. I believe it was the austrailian theme with the kangaroo. Very pleasing on the eyes.

Hi, getting use to the new email setup but it's so white. Can we not ad a background to soften things up like the old yahoo?

This change is the most head-scratching of the them to me. It's completely counterintuitive. Gray emails mean you've got them highlighted. Unread should be black and read should be white. How hard is this?

I am not happy with the new look of yahoo. The inability to customize the view and appearance does not meet expectations. The look of a read vs. unread email is too similar and difficult to differentiate. Bring back the custom view and colors and let us pick the back ground, how we show a read vs unread email and unfix what you changed. NOT HAPPY!!!!

How difficult is it to give us a few Themes/Backgrounds? This new look inbox absolutely sucks, the worst design I've ever seen...like someone in a "Dark" period of depression designed it! Yahoo has always been better than this, but this my be scrapping the bottom of the barrel...can't you do better? or, perhaps you don't give a flying F about your customers! All the other email services have some sense of color and design, not this putrid **** you call a background/theme!

The grey background is so horrible. I can't read the emails!!!

PLEASE CHANGE THE GREY READ EMAILS! Keep it the old way. Too difficult to read the grey and they all bend together. Also, scrolling down is laggy and seems to move up and down on its own accord. It's also very difficult to batch delete emails (one reason being the grey background), but also the icons for the web pages get in the way making it hard to click the checkmark. And holding down shift often deletes all emails in between, even when I have unselected a few. This is a shitshow!

Where are the colors, what is this, back to the 1990s?? How can Yahoo move backwards??

It is also harder to print out, it takes up too much ink.

which I recommend everyone to read. It's HILARIOUS.
Apparently, having colors was too much "upkeep".
Really rich to hear something like that in year 2025. Like 20 years ago (of which the "new" look reminds me), who would have guessed this is how things will turn out?:-D -

Why can we no longer personalize the colors of our inboxes? Why on Earth would you take options to personalize away instead of adding them? Isn't that the point of "upgrades?" You created a version of your email that looks like a cheap copy of what you had before. Please bring back the color themes.

Just go back to the previous version. Nothing else matters. We like Yahoo, not this Gmail clone you've made.
