GO BACK TO THE CLASSIC VERSION

You know, Yahoo the management don't REALLY care that users don't like this change.
They figure the times are changing, everything is migrating to mobile so they adapt a phone look of the website while cleaning the space for twice as many ads, and that's that.
Yes they do monitor what did folk moan most about thanks to you all voting and commenting here, but they also do have cold hard facts about what percentage of overall users really used which function they are now so vigorously protesting they lost.
One example is the currently 7th ranked "idea" titled "Colors/Themes" on which Yahoo Mail Team replied 1 month back that "Yes, we have simplified our themes. We have no plans at this time in adding more themes/colors/backgrounds. We had a whole bunch, but a majority of our users stuck with the default color. The usage was too low and the upkeep was too much." So, that's one example of their approach because if you are a desktop user who is 25+ years with Yahoo and suddenly hear in year 2025 that having colors is too much upkeep it's like HILARIOUS. To think this is what you get after the years of development, who would have guessed this 25 years ago? LOL But if you are person who is 20 and does not know better and does not even own desktop computer then you are the future, right? Old users will die out.
So yeah, there might be 5000+ comments clamoring to revert this change
- by the way, if you create a "new idea" under "Yahoo New Mail" which is a bit more militant, they delete it and instead, your post will appear among comments HERE, so that also increases the number -
but they won't budge. Even if they do, in couple years yet more new management can come and change the mail YET AGAIN. Young mobile users won't know any better, and the old desktop ones? Did you notice how the blank, BASIC look of the "new" mail reminds of the Yahoo Basic Mail? Do you remember it? It's still hidden there. Which gave me the idea to turn it on to see whether THAT won't after all be better. If you go on the three dots on the left pane, it unhides "Settings", and there in the settings, look on the left, eventually you'll find "Swith to basic Mail" which will turn your mail into simplified, washed out looking page stripped of most of the graphic, with just purple header the rest stark white, primitive buttons and functions - but at least you do have the basic ones now missing, and at least it's not gray with gmail rounded edges - which is like from years back. But I decided you know what? Better stick with it, because if you make yourself used to this again, then every now and then a new kid that comes to Yahoo management and decides yet another crazy redesign of Yahoo mail, you will be spared. It won't touch YOU.
So yeah, I won't scream here that I am leaving to Gmail or AOL, that is ridiculous that won't be any improvement FOR ME, why should I change my email address I have for quarter a century? This "Idea" is called "GO BACK TO THE CLASSIC VERSION", which is actually not correct, because by that people probably mean the previous form of the "Standard Version of Yahoo mail". The Standard Version has changed before and it's possible that it will keep changing with each new management. I switched to "Yahoo basic Mail", to avoid the current disastrous Standard Version, and more importantly, to be in peace in the future. I am tired with all the experiments.

Please offer a classic view, the current view is so difficult for my eyes. Too much color.

This version is not good. I lost emails while writing them. Typing is strange. Please return to previous version. If no, I'll close this account.

Please GO BACK! If not, I will have to close this account within the next month. This version is a nightmare! It has caused me to waste hours and hours of my valuable time!
In addition, the emails of my most importamt contact (Club Express) go into SPAM despite my marking them as "not spam." -

The new update is disorienting. It is difficult to differentiate between read emails, unread emails, and ads. The amount of AI being used is concerning. "Priority" should not be the default, show all of the emails. "AI Summary" should not be the default, show all of the information.
This update is actively trying to hide important information, there should be an option to remain on the Basic Mail format that worked and showed everything. -

I have been with Yahoo for over 20 years. I have one paid account, and another that is unpaid that I use for work. For years, people have been asking "why are you still on Yahoo? I always told them that it's because I prefer it, because it's comfortable.
Taking away the possibility to use the classic version will tip the scales for me to switch email providers after all these years if this is not fixed.

Agreed. This "update" feels like moving from Lego blocks to Duplo blocks. It's terrible.

You wont be to improve the new yahoo mail before 2026. If you want to fix it, allow us to go back to the previous version until you do so.
While you're fixing it, you should hire a brand new quality control department. A product this bad and aggravating would have gotten a lot of people fired or seriously demoted -

Changing this without consent was disrespectful and unprofessional. May Yahoo reject the world's influence of making bad decisions and yield to doing something normal; this can only benefit everyone. Again, please change this back to the classic version. Thank you.

GO THE F**KING **** BACK TO THE CLASSIC LOOK !!!!!!!!!, this new look is TRASH as in HORRIBLE !!!!!! and management needs to wake up and pay attention to what its users are telling them. the new version is EXTREMELY HATED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & not wanted. Change is not always wanted nor good ad just because something may be old also does not mean you throw it away for something new and sparkly. The classic version was: (1) LOVED, (2) PREFERRED, (3) and is Wanted BACK !!!!!!!!!
The users have CLEARLY SPOKEN !!!!!!!!!!!!! on which version they prefer and yahoo management needs to end this GARBAGE !!!!!!!!!!!! version and bring BACK THE CLASSIC VERSION IMMEDIATELY !!!

the web mail has always been great to use, simple, quick. Now it is not.
It makes me want to invent a time machine and go back in time and not learn how to read.
Did you hire some microsoft developers to "improve" the app? You now make gmail look amazing.
