NEW EMAIL AND UNREAD IN DARK MODE HARD TO DIFFERENTIATE
In the new version of Yahoo Mail, any read and unread messages in dark mode are so hard to differentiate. It was better in the older version.

The dark mode in the new Yahoo Mail currently feels too dark, especially in the left sidebar with options like Mail, Send, Drafts, etc. The text there is gray, but I think it should be white for better readability. When an item is selected, it would also help to use a purple highlight, similar to the selected email style in the message list when opening a specific email.
Another important point is readability. Comparing the old and new interfaces side by side, the old Yahoo Mail lets me see more of the email content at once. In the new version, everything feels more zoomed in, which reduces readability. That is also something I noticed in Outlook, and one of the reasons I did not enjoy using it. Yahoo Mail used to feel easier to read.
There is also an issue with dark mode affecting the appearance of some emails. Sometimes the interface forces dark mode onto the email content itself, which can make certain messages look worse or harder to read. If possible, please add a toggle that lets the email body remain unaffected by the app theme, so the content appears as close as possible to its source formatting.
Please take a close look at the old Yahoo Mail interface and bring back the elements that made it work so well, especially the better readability and clearer visual hierarchy.
Also, if it isn't too much, add a slider for how dark the background is in dark mode, so we can tweak it if someone prefers the current look of Yahoo. Lastly, a hue slider would be great too, if not then similar to Discord's themes, they are very customizable.

it's not an idea it's just feedback. i just switched to the new yahoo mail and i'm annoyed that i can't mark mails as unread with one click like with the old. also, i find it much harder to spot the unread. note that i switched form light to dark mode at the same time.
also, kudos on your little unboarding for the new yahoo. i like that you actually asked me to pick what i want (which view, dark vs light) instead of showing mw how to do it but then having to actually doing it myself.

In your latest update, you've made using Dark Theme a pretty bad experience. I can no longer identify a message that has been read vs unread. Your little purple dot on the side is a terrible substitute for a subject line that is no longer identifiable as bold vs not bold. Please fix this.
Also, in the next update, will you please include the option to sort inbox and other mailboxes by Subject? Sometimes I have 20 emails in a thread and I'm not able to easily search them up without this capability. Thank you.

I'm not a fan of how the background colors of the read vs unread are the same in dark mode on PC.Now the only way to tell is to locate the dot. I'd rather have it back like it was where if it was read, the preview was darker then if it was unread it was lighter like a grey. Like how you have it with the mouse hovering over the email, it changes colors. Please turn it back or let me know in the settings how to fix it. Thanks.

I am on the dark theme, and read and unread messages are the same color. Unread have a small purple circle next to them, but it doesn't really stand out. If I hover over a message, it darkens that message, but I it would be more helpful to me if read and unread messages were different colors.

The dark theme was changed to the worse and now the only difference between read and unread mails is just a small purple point. Please set a whole row grayed out color for read emails and a black color for unread ones. It's like black is new (polished) and old are grayed out (worn). Thanks!

With the nonbold vs bold of the font for read vs unread emails, on my phone the background color is black so it is more noticeable but on the desktop the background color is more grey which does not distinguish the font enough to know what is read vs unread. This is not good for me to see the difference on the desktop. I feel like this changed rather recently and I do not like it at all.

When I'm replying to an email using dark mode, the previous messages are often impossible to read. They using a dark font, which when on a dark background are almost invisible.
Please make the previous emails in the chain use a light font against the dark background asap.

Hello,
When I use dark mode in the new yahoo mail version, it is very tough to identify which are the read emails and which are unread. Also, the count of Spam emails are not shown against the spam folder name. To check if there are any spam emails, we need to hover on the spam folder.

You can not find the new mail due to the color of background.
Please do something for it. -

Now the only indication in dark mode that an item has been read is the dot to the left of a message is no longer visible. It would be great if the item was black instead of gray similar to the hover action. I believe this was the case in previous versions. The class that changes when hovered is here: #Atom .j4_n:hover
{
box-shadow: none;
}If this would happen when read that would help with readability.
Thanks,
Sam

I like the new dark mode, but it is difficult to identify which folder is the active one. The shading could be improved to better identify the active folder. Thank you.

I like the new theme, but it's not immediately clear on the dark mode as to what is a new/unread message or a read message. There's not enough of a difference between the two. It's fine on light mode (as much as I hate light mode) but on dark mode it's a bit of a problem. Please get this fixed!

Improve the new dark mode for viewing the email inbox, so that it allows better distinction between read and unread emails.

In Dark mode, I am unable to differentiate between read and unread emails. The Bold doesn't stand out. I am on WebMail.

The new interface feels completely useless! In dark mode, it’s impossible to tell what’s been read, there’s no visible hover effect, the New Mail button is oversized, and the toolbar has been moved from the top to the middle. How is that supposed to be helpful or an improvement?

When I switched to dark theme, I could hardly tell which read and unread email. Also, it would nice to customizable each column size for convenience.

After switching to the new dark mode theme, I'm finding it challenging to distinguish between read and unread messages at a glance. The current visual differentiation is not sufficient.
To improve usability, I suggest modifying the styling for unread messages—such as using a bolder font weight or a brighter, higher-contrast color. This would make the interface much more user-friendly and accessible.
Thank you for considering this feedback.
