NEW EMAIL AND UNREAD IN DARK MODE HARD TO DIFFERENTIATE
In the new version of Yahoo Mail, any read and unread messages in dark mode are so hard to differentiate. It was better in the older version.

Light mode is too light, and dark mode is too dark and very difficult to understand which message is unread or not. Please fix it, and add the choise to personalise with color theme, to better suit everybody needs.

Hello, The new mail layout is good but the dark mode grey color as the main screen is not a good choice. Its does not look good. Either give us more dark mode options or make the gray more black.

For users like me who use dark mode, it's very difficult to tell apart emails that I've already read vs ones that are unread because the bold white text (for unread emails) doesn't stand out enough vs the regular white text (read emails). I have to rely on that small purple circle towards the far-left of the row which does work but it'd be way better if they were easily distinguishable based on the entire row's text style or color. For example, you could make the entire row background a bit of a lighter color to indicate that email is read. I think it would also help if you added an option to change the style/color of the text within the inbox because the difference between bold and regular white text is just not drastic enough.
The old inbox style did not have this problem but it seems like I cannot switch back.

In dark mode it is very difficult to tell the difference between unread and read mail. In light mode it is more evident and much easier. Maybe in dark mode show unread with slightly lighter background color as the bold font does not show up well.

Unread mail on the Dark Theme needs to standout more.
Perhaps lighten the background unread mail rows - bold text on Dark Themes do not stand out as much as on Light Themes. -

Currently, its very difficult to tell the difference between the two. I had to switch to light mode as a result

I have a dark theme and I can't distinct read from unread mails. I know there's a purple dot on unread mails but visually it's horrid.

I can not tell at a glance which emails haven't been read. Unread emails should have a slightly different background color than read ones.

Dears,
IT is difficult to appreciate difference between read/unread emails in dark mode in the new inbox appearance.
It is very important to see at a glance read/unread emails.
Old appearance was very easy to see!
this is a very basic feature. nobody checked it before going to production???? -

Some email memos arrive in black text, which is very hard to read with a dark theme choice.
I switched to "Device" to see if that will handle these.
Thoughts?
Please & thank you, Tim -

In normal mode, the bold is very visible, but not in dark mode. You need another way to highlight unread messages.

In dark mode the appearance it hurt my eyes and in light mode the apprearance look clean but there is something that feel empty so add more colour that look appealing to eyes.
and there is bugs or not but wherever i got the mail with attachment . the attachement show double to me but the sender send one attachement only.

Currently, only with some of the emails I receive, in light mode, have a white background and black text. If I switch to dark mode, which I prefer, they change to a pale green background with a light grey text, which is very hard to read. I have friends and colleagues who receive emails from the same places who don't have this issue, so I believe it's specific to Yahoo.
I recently had my eyes checked. I don't need glasses and have very good eyesight, so if I am struggling with this contrast then others who are less fortunate with their eye condition, will find this harder. -

Hi, when in dark mode (desktop / Chrome), replying to emails changes the conversation of previous emails 'below' to a dark grey on a black background making the text invisible. You need to drag the mouse over it to highlight the text to be able to read. Copy/paste text from other sources has also resulted in that pasted text being invisible against the background.
Seems there is a bug in these scenarios.
The light/white scenario has so little distinction between borders/emails it is difficult to determine the layout quickly.
More UX testing and development required - especially poor for accessibility tests. -

I’ve noticed that when using the app in Dark Mode, some messages become very difficult to read. This happens because the people who sent them used color schemes designed for Light Mode, which don’t adapt well to the dark background.
A solution that would greatly improve readability would be an option like “Dark Mode except Messages”. This way, the interface could remain in Dark Mode while messages themselves would keep a neutral, readable background regardless of the sender’s color choices.
This small change would make all messages visible and consistent, without forcing users to switch back to Light Mode.

Until recently there was a good contrast between unread mail items and read mail items. The unread ones had a lighter background, while the read ones had a darker one. Right now everything is using the lighter background, the only difference between the read and unread items being that the unread ones have a slightly bolder font, but not nearly enough to stand out.
I understand that you want to keep the color scheme as minimalistic as possible, but I see the above as a big setback from the previous UI iteration, and potentially even an accessibility issue affecting the visually impaired users.

When in Dark mode giving a better background to unread emails will make them more prominent. This isn't an issue in non dark mode as the boldness of the text easily stands out on the white background.

In Dark mode, it is not as easy to see which emails are unread as in Light mode. The purple dot does not stand out as much as it does in Light mode. I think if the preview bar on unread messages was a shade darker (or lighter) than messages that were already read than it would be easier to quickly glance and instantly see which emails are still unread. I prefer Dark mode in most applications, but because of this I am still using Light mode with Yahoo emails.

I'm having a hard time, at a glance, seeing which email lines are read vs unread. It would be nice if there was some other symbol or distinguishing feature to help me SEE it more easily. I run dark mode, am color blind, but don't think it should be so hard to see bold vs not bold. (?)
