Sponsored Ad displayed a fake lock-screen/siren/phishing scam
An ad appeared at the top of my feed with a subject line of "2+ Unread". Unfortunately, I didn't notice the little "Ad" thing in the corner, and thought it was an update. I clicked on it. It started a page that ripped off Microsoft, said my computer was not up to date and I must update it now, locked it up, and also said that if I closed it I would lose data. All the while it emitted a high pitched noise from my speakers.
This happened to me a couple times on my work compter, so I know how to handle it.
However, I find it a problem that there are ADVERTISERS on yahoo who are trying to spam us. You shouldn't be allowing this.
BTW - you AI chat was pretty helpful in identifying where/how to report this.
I did capture a screenshot of the ad, and the link behind it (it is a Taboola URL - VERY long) however there is no way for me to post the screenshot to this comment. I will save the information for a bit if you need it.
