Allow for more customization of the inbox design
I have been using yahoo mail for 27 years -- at times paying for Yahoo Mail Plus -- and I have been happy all these 27 years till now. I do not like the functionality of the new redesign. And after a quarter of a century, I am considering a switch to Tutanota or ProtonMail as I am willing to pay for a better interface.
The primary issue with the redesign is that it is cluttered and makes it difficult to scan quickly for information. I am shocked that there are not more options for tailoring the design to one's own liking.
For one, I REALLY do not like the circle monogram logo marking each email to the left of the senders name in the inbox. I should be able to opt out of this view if desired. It is very cluttering and contains no useful information.
Another extremely bad change is the increased size of the ad column on the right, which now takes up far too much room. It makes it impossible to read the full lines of some of my emails and I must use the left to right scroll going back and forth to read them. In the past there was a simple arrow key to shrink the ad column to allow more room for the email column ensuring easy reading. This must be reintroduced.
I have also considered upgrading to Yahoo Mail Plus again, but I've tried multiple times and it says that the service "is not available in my region."
Please consider allowing customers to pay for better service and design. Please allow for more customization of the inbox.
