Allow an appearance-based changed where emails that have been read have a darker background color than unread ones
The old inbox was so much clearer visually (especially the fact that unread emails had a lighter background for easy checking), and there isn't a good reason to force us to use the new version. I don't find any of the changes useful or helpful, and it is significantly damaging the work flow of my daily life. I see the notice about not changing back, but why not allow users who are used to that system to select their preference? It would even be acceptable to import the AI stuff into this version, since that's probably the reason for the change, but at least make the visual style select-able. I am seriously considering moving my email to a different platform because of this.
