Rosters/Lineups - Increase maximum number of roster slots.
This change would increase the maximum number of roster slots your league can have (not including IR slots). Currently the maximum is 30 roster slots.

Increase max roster size from 30 to anything higher. Preferably 40 at least. More people are switching to dynasty format every year and this is seriously hindering commissioners ability to run a deeper dynasty league. Other providers allow larger rosters and I do not understand why this gets ignored every year.

Please, please, please increase max roster size. Every other provider facilitates the ability for larger roster sizes. More people are switching to dynasty and this is the one thing holding us back. 40 would be great but would take 35, just please increase it!

I agree a 30 team league would test the knowledge of every true sports fan. I'd be in...

There are some DIE HARD managers who like the real life option of a 30 team keeper league.
This would be incredible for the ultimate / elite managers who would manage a team that reflects the value of a real life team. Bottom line - if real life baseball survives with a 30 team league, why not make this plausible? Nobody is saying anyone has to do this, but I guarantee this would be used by enthusiasts (sports junkies) like myself.

100% in agreement of increased roster size. They should just let the league Commissioners set their own roster size. My 10-yr keeper league is already maxed out to 30, but I wish I could increase it some to say 36 or even 40. Love the deep formats. Voted up.
Please consider voting up my suggestion for making the DTD a real designation that we can use to stash injured players out of the way while waiting for them to be given the IL designation. Thanks.

I am trying to get one of my leagues to move from ESPN to Yahoo. The roster limit in this league is 36 players. Yahoo maxes out at 30. Please increase roster limit or do away with the max.

I strongly agree with this suggestion. Our league has had the same problem. As far as I can tell, all other fantasy websites allow much larger rosters. I don't see a problem with letting leagues decide how deep or shallow they want their player pool to be.

but also needs a system too roll over NA players on team rosters so they work for keeper leagues

I don't see why there has to be a limit on the number of players on a team. Please allow leagues to have more freedom in the number of players on a team. Not all people can make leagues of 12 or 14 people. With smaller leagues, it would be nice to have larger rosters to allow of more games to matter and for an opportunity to find sleepers and use rookies. Otherwise, everyone has an All-Star team and the game becomes one of pure luck and no scouting.

Why does there even have to be a maximum size to leagues? It’s more fun when there are more games and players to follow.

NA spots are currently capped at 10. I'd like to see the maximum raised to 15 or 20 to allow keeper/dynasty leagues to have more in-depth minor league possibilities. Yahoo has done a good job of expanding the player pool, but when you can only roster 10 NA, it caps these newly added players usage.

Attention Yahoo support and players:
I have found a way to run a dynasty league successfully using your platform, but it has not been easy to create the structure. We had to create a 2nd league to roster our “farm system” on, since your platform only supports 30 man active rosters. We are making due, and have an incredibly fun league. But if you increased the commissioners ability to have unlimited players on the active roster, increseased the number of NA slots, increased the number of DL slots, and enhanced the overall player pool, we would have the perfect world for dynasty players. Everyone loves using Yahoo’s seamless platform, with a few exceptions, but this is not dynasty friendly to only allow 30 man active rosters. 50 would be the absolute lowest it should be, some leagues would require even more. With our 2 league system, we are able to allow call up/send downs of “farm system eligible players” but it is not seamless, or easy to understand for some players. PLEASE MAKE THESE CHANGES. Additionally, we understand rosters may be inaccessible for a short time while yahoo does maintenance on the player pool and makes changes, but year round access to teams and the ability to make transactions nearly year round would be ideal for dynasty leagues. This is the wave of the future, if you are able to access the 2 leagues I am commissioner of, please take a look at our format. Thanks

For dynasty leagues - my league has a 40 man roster and 25 players are on the yahoo website and are scored like a traditional league. The other 15 players are in "minor league" and are owned by the manager but not scored. Is there a way yahoo can give us a minor league option to place and designate these players as owned by a individual manager. It would be awesome if we would be able to move players up and down without waivers. Love yahoo fantasy website and trying to help move it towards helping dynasty leagues. The NA option was a good start keep up the good work!

30 max roster size is way too small for any kind of keeper or dynasty league. Please please increase it to at least 35.
Also, there has to be a way to have the minor league NA roster be separate so we don’t have to drop a player from our roster when we we trade an NA player to another team, this is beyond frustrating.

****, you really are one. Any idiot knows it is not going to be real. You model a fantasy to reflect real situations. Why do you think the lineups require players at each real position and award stats that reflect actual baseball achievement, with game limits and innings pitched limits, that roughly equate to MLB reality. By your logic why require players at different positions? You may as well play fantasy cricket since you don't care whether the fantasy game reflects actual Major League Baseball.

I have no desire to be a real baseball manager.
What next? 40 man rosters? Minor leaguers? Options?
If you want to be a real fantasy baseball manager...go to your local/regional team office and apply.

I like this idea but for more in a dynasty format. I think a 25 man active roster is perfect but I would like to see more options to expand the NA slots on a team without taking away from a teams DL spots. Maybe even up to a mlb 40 man roster with 25 active.

I don't believe I've played a public baseball league for years and if I have I don't remember the roster size....but let me suggest you check the custom leagues.
You risk some rogue commissioner cheating but rosters can be up to 30 players...during the season a roster can be as big as 40 with DL and NA spots. Not many go that far but I have 2 leagues I run; one with 5 DL slots and 3 NA slots (keeper) and one with 5 DL and 1 NA (redraft).

Increase roster size closer to the MLB 25 man roster limit. I know it will slightly prolong drafts, but even adding one or two roster slots would reduce frustration and allow greater flexibility to bench slumping players, or injured players who exceed the two allowed DL slots. It also would promote broader strategy that could include middle relievers and platoon players, or allow someone to stash that prospect/suspect they are intrigued by.
I think as a matter of principle, it would be good because it brings management of a fantasy baseball team closer to that of real MLB baseball team. -

Agree expand roster for dynasty leagues. I like Yahoo but my league can't use yahoo because of this. All other major fantasy sites allow at least 40 man rosters. Yahoo is lone hold out.
