[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

This move is going to force our league to move to a different provider. We use the message board to list our keepers and rely on its availability to keep league members updated on various subjects throughout the season and off season. Poor move Yahoo.

Yahoo has deleted many of these comments, all the ones that know exactly why Yahoo is doing this. Yahoo is 100% against free speech, because managers might use this message board to call out all the propagand that big media pushes 24/7/365. This comment will be deleated mark my words because Yahoo can not handle the real truth.

Our league has really made use of the message board. We post monthly updates and mid-season and end-season summaries on the board. The removal of the message board feature makes me want to consider other fantasy league options.

The Fantrax promo was a reply to my post. i actually signed up and created a league. i much rather stay on yahoo though. im gonna wait this year out and see how they improve it.

If the message board is not brought back this year, we will be moving our 16-team league to another site in 2024.

I also hear you, Dan and I'll go a step further. I'm so turned off by this that I'm considering moving off my main email address (yahoo.com) I've had for over 30 years and just be completely done with Yahoo. If they'd do this, then I'm a ****** if I stick around and wait for them to ruin something else I place a lot of value on. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I hear you, Dan V (below). My keeper league of 20 years just started a FanTrax league to test it out, and so far it's free and the features seem superior to yahoo. If a problem crops up before the season starts we can always move back.
Yahoo has never made any effort to improve the platform so we probably should have left years ago. I feel like we just ripped off the bandaid - hurts a little right now, but I don't think we'll regret the move.

To the poster promoting the FANTRAX site. I did some initial research on this site and it does look promising. I did notice however on the register page there is a "Promo Code" box. I'm wondering what that is all about as you did say this was a free site. I did not register, not yet anyway. I would prefer to stay in Yahoo and that depends greatly if Yahoo will bring back the Message Board which I doubt they will do despite the general outcry from we devoted and long-time Yahoo players. Speaking of the Message Board, I have no doubt that Yahoo has plans to eliminate this important tool in all of its leagues and it just started with baseball. Why? Yahoo won't tell us and be transparent with we devoted players. It has to be a money/revenue-related issue on Yahoo's end and once again, it is a very poor decision on Yahoo's part which will make our leagues that much more difficult as far as corresponding within our leagues. I would certainly not recommend Yahoo leagues to anyone now who is considering joining a league or creating a league of their own.

Terrible decision, just another reason to choose different platform.

ok ok ok, lets give them some time to make it better. the chat sucks right now but lets see what they do. SUGGESTION: allow for sub-chats or chat rooms so that we dont have to scroll through every message. one of the reasons we love the message boards is because we can choose which topic to join.

Message boards are critical in many leagues. Many elimination and guillotine style leagues rely on the board.

Someone below asked "does anyone know any other good sites for fantasy baseball? I like being the commissioner to my leagues and it seems that yahoo doesn't care how frustrating this is. ESPN?" And Edgar below also asked about sites.
First, no. ESPN self-infliction itself a few years back into a pile of garbage too.
Our leagues and most people posting here saying they are leaving are all going to FANTRAX.
1. FANTRAX is completely free.
2. FANTRAX has a Message Board and a chat app far superior to Yahoo's already. On a laptop you can even view the chat in full screen mode.
3. FANTRAX has far more features and allows rosters / IL slots / NA slots (Minors there) to be expanded a lot more than here. Your commish gets to decide. Also far more minor league prospects than in the database here.
(And prospect slots are kept open all year long and don't disappear in the spring like Yahoo's clunky system does. No need to make prospect protection lists there, woot!).
4. FANTRAX has improved leaps and bounds over the years because they actually LISTEN to their users and continue to do so.
5. FANTRAX, unlike Yahoo here, puts lots of love and attention into their Fantasy Baseball platform because Baseball seems their first love. With Yahoo, the baseball leagues have been their ugly step-child for years and years. All they are into is football and a little into basketball. It is pretty clear Yahoo ignores baseball here.
6. Finally I know it is hard to change but since we have changed over 5 days ago I wonder why I was so against change for all these years. I wish we had changed over a couple of years back now.

The message board is a major way in which for league members to communicate w/ each other and their commish. Most managers are located far away from each other. Taking away a means of communication w/ others is repungant. Ideas and back-and-forth responses are what makes a fantasy league stay alive. Disgraceful decision. Chat rooms, whatever those are, are NOT the way to go. Reverse your decision or lose supporters of your Yahoo leagues.

Just a terrible decision clearly made with $$ in mind. If it wasn't about money, we would have been asked first.
Huge element of my fantasy sports experience has just been removed. My league will be looking for another provider if this isn't rectified, and before next year. This will go for my other leagues in other sports as well. Beyond amazed at this...

I've done stat summaries for all my fantasy leagues since I started in 2004. It's not a small amount of text and the message board is the perfect place to post a weekly summary and easy to find down the road.
It will get buried in a chat.
Also, I don't even know where chat is located in a browser? It seems like chat is a mobile exclusive feature as far as I can tell.
I really don't like this decision.

yahoo, you're not being clear if you're eliminating the message boards permanently. but if they are not ever returning then please state that as it's already a headache trying to communicate with my guys. i am the commish of my league and this is not enjoyable.
