[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

because not all our Mgrs monitor their emails, we need way to communicate with them.

I hate the removal of Message Boards as much as anyone here. But many are propagating incorrect information about the lack of the Chat feature on the desktop version. At the bottom right of every Fantasy page, there is a white box containing a blue circle containing a chat balloon. Click on that and you get the same interface that you find on the app version. Now I chide Yahoo for not pointing that out in the league notes - along with almost everything else they have done or not done with the implementation of this change. But in our complaints, we need to be accurate with them, so as not to give Yahoo an excuse not to listen to them.
The main problem with the removal of the Message Boards is the lack of threading. I also like the e-mail notification once a Message Board post occurs - though many owners ignore them (and even block them).
Lack of awareness of the Chat feature will be a temporary obstacle, but if Yahoo enhances it to truly functionally replace the Message Boards, that will soon take care of itself. What I feel is ridiculous is why Yahoo is trying to reinvent the wheel. Chats are meant for "chats" - they are not meant to be message boards. Two entirely different animals.

I think you may be able to post invite links to your Fantrax or other leagues in Commissioners Notes to help move people over if you're a commissioner. Or use the email function, of course. That's about the best you can hope for on your way out.

This is a TERRIBLE change to these leagues. Message board was the lifeblood of one of the leagues I was in.

WOW. Been here for 2 decades, commish for 15 years. This is unnecessary. Whomever made this decision should be fired.
I'm moving my league next season if message boards are gone.

My league thinks this is a terrible idea. We definitely use the message feature for many things, primarily in planning for the draft. We also have several older people in our league, and for many of them they only know how to use the PC web version of the site (no smartphone).
We like playing fantasy on Yahoo, and have used it for nearly 20 years because it makes sense and is fairly consistent from year to year on how to use it.
The message board feature was easy to use, very well organized, and always right there on the homepage for easy reviewing and responding.
We would ask those making that decision to please consider all these things so Yahoo continues to be best fantasy site around.

We cant talk at draft , deals were literally made during draft regarding active picks , you took that from us. We cant talk in a board even though email league is the same so removing that only causes more issues as some will go to spam when an in league post all see. You are overpolicing this and treating us all like 5 year olds. I have been a player nearly 20 years. This will be my last year here. The changes since purchase by the new owners are simply unacceptible. I defended your platform to everyone all this time. Now CBS , ESPN , Fantrax and multiple others are better. Not because they improved but because you opted to get worse. I interact with groups with tens of thousands of fantasy players. Its pretty much unanamous on the disabling of draft chat being a sign of terrible things to come when that happened , you proved them correct. I'm not some right wingnut either , you are catering to a lunatic minute % who wil never play this game to begin with. Ask the NHL how that turns out. Matters little though , as I said this has crossed the line to utter lunacy. And I am done. Who ever you are who bought the platform I assume the intention is to tank it and ride the tax write off to a sunny beach , otherwise your actions are those of a morons suicide.

Clearly this move was intended to increase the use of Yahoo's app, since that's the only way to access Chat. My keeper league already moved to Fantrax over this.

You already goofed up this **** enough now taking away the m.b. is the most stupid thing ever . years ago you changed it to where folks do not have to sign back up every season you just do it automatically & you can not even tell who is here for sure without a roll call so please quit making things harder than they need to be anymore changes & I may just quit doing Yahoo fantasy leagues. The M.B. is very important in nearly every league so change this ASAP!!!!

i find it very fustrating if you are in multiple leauges checking the message boards was the best way to stay in touch post reminder ect.. Truly the leages will not be the same wiht out them. this is a case of do not fix whats not broken.. very fustraing

This is a HORRIBLE IDEA. Why would you take the organized message board that's located in a place that's central to on the homepage of the league, and instead relegate it to a chat room that's only been available on mobile devices for several years? Sounds like a giant cluster mess.

Still can't believe there is no fix for this... What on earth yahoo.... Most private leagues NEED them.

This is a terrible idea. We used message boards for everything. Draft, trades, discussions, etc. Chats and other things don't work due to not everyone using the app and huge disparities in time zones and people's work schedules.

I tried to chat with a specialist about it and it says "All specialists are busy. Refresh the page in a few moments, or choose another support option" ....been this way for a while. Either they are getting blown up with questions, they've just quit responding, or the robots are broken. I'm just trying to figure out when the "improvements" to chat are coming...keeper deadline and draft is fast approaching and our league has had zero communication because of no message board. Half of them don't even know what a "Chat" is and you can forget email...this is a disaster...self-imposed, too.

we used chat for everything - I mean everything. Trades, voting, keepers, monitoring all. Its not going to work without the chat function in our league. Just dropping it makes no sense.

VERY BAD CHOICE.
what a stupid moronic thing to do
GIVE US BACK THE MESSAGE BOARDI`ve been commish of the league , for over 13 years now. We depend on the messenger for trade vetoing, trash talk, trade talk, and setting up the keeper league. To start changing things now would make setting this league up very difficult,to sat the least.

This is a terrible idea and a really poor way to go about it. At this moment I'm trying to locate some league communication from a week ago and I can't find it and don't want to spend any more time trying to figure out where it is. This kind of move, without any prior warning or input is really stupid on your part.
