Schedule/Scoring Formats - 'Doubleheaders vs league score median'.
Each week, the median fantasy points of all teams in the league is calculated by taking the middle number in a sorted list of scores of each team. Each team would get a win if they beat the league median and a loss if they lose to it.

This feature is now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus.

It is a matter of what you want for your league. If you want to give everyone a chance to get lucky and win the whole thing, this isn't for you. If you want to have a setup that gets the best teams to the top, this would work in your league. There would still be luck, but it would be cut down a little. I like the idea and concept behind it!

This is a very great idea that I actually have discussed in my league. I would say that the decision is about split to incorporate it. I think that going against the median would be better than going against the average, but maybe Yahoo could have the option for either one. Great thoughts! I posted this suggestion earlier, and here is the link:

sorry actually you could go 11-0, 0-11 or anywhere in between

Great idea. I actually would love to have every team play each other every week. In a 12 team league you can go 12-0, 0-12 or anywhere in between. The luck factor needs to be removed from yahoo and the only way to do that is to allow us to customize our schedules as we see fit.

There should be a head to head matchup for each team, and the top scores for each week should get a win, and the bottom half scores should get a loss. so each week a team can go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2. This could get bad for the low scoring teams, but oh well, they wont be winning anyway.

I like the idea a lot and think it needs to be added. I think the one tweak should be if you score in the top half of the league, not the average. I guess they might be the same thing. if you are in a 10 team league would get a win if you score in the top 5 point total for the week and if you win your game. If you are in a 12 team league, you get a win if you score in the top 6, etc...

We should def do this. I also like throwing out the highest and lowest scores as well.

I am able to do this on another site and it has been very effective at leveling out the playing field and removing the "luck" factor throughout the season. We throw out the high and low scores for the week and make the average out of the other 8 scores (10 team league). I enjoy Yahoo! so much better than any other site as a platform for Fantasy Football but I would like to have the options available that some of the other sites have when it comes to forming a custom league.

Actually, even if you can just have two games per week (face two opponents per week) that'd be awesome.
